What really annoys me is that in that cup game, I did everything right. I put Smiley in all three positions, filled every other slot in my depth chart with every player active that night, so there was no one without a listed position. Nevertheless, come garbage time, the GE gives this stupid little "it looks like we're in garbage time" announcement and out goes Len Smiley. So much for single-position OD training when the GE cheats the main trainee out of 13 valuable minutes. But still, he had a triple pop to open the season, so he's still improving well. When he gets good, look out. Also, when I get enough money to buy a legit PF (with good ID/REB) and make Faina and McNeill SG and SF in my LI offense, that should be pretty dominant. I'm really curious to see how effective that could be.

Okay so here is my tip for getting 48 minutes for someone. Have only 9 active players

Lets say Len Smiley will be at PG, your lineup should look like this.

PG|| Starter: Smiley, Back Up: Smiley, Reserve: Smiley
SG|| Starter: A, Back Up: X, Reserve: X
SF|| Starter: B, Back Up: Y, Reserve: Y
PF|| Starter: C, Back Up: Z, Reserve: Z
C|| Starter: D, Back Up: U, Reserve: U

EDIT: It doesn't work all the time, have fun ^^.

Strictly Follow the Dept Chart and For fouls allow them to play.
Just in case you did not do those.

I presume you're talking about Smiley. He had the triple pop the first week, then no pop the second week (JS training b/c he didn't get 48 minutes at PG) then this week was pressure training and he popped twice. Now he looks like this:

Jump Shot: average Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: respectable ↑ Handling: respectable
Driving: inept Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: awful Inside Def.: inept ↑
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: awful Free Throw: mediocre

Rafael Faina is getting ready to own people too as he triple-popped in week 1, then no pop in week 2, then an OD pop this past week. With 11JS, 9JR, 11HA, 11DR, 11IS, hopefully he'll be difficult to guard even in D.IV. What does Cliff Pringle look like?

Driving: strong Passing: proficient ↑
Inside Shot: average Inside Def.: pitiful

And dammmmnnn 5 games in and already a 300+ PD???

I only had 252 PD in my first 5 games! You might break a 1.5K PD at the end of the season~

Haha "only" 252 PD. That's pretty much because your team was defensively oriented, so you locked down the opponents but didn't really run up your own score. And these teams are so bad that my defense, while not as good as yours, still holds them to similarly low levels of output. But my team is much more offensively-oriented and thus better suited to inflating my own score, hence the larger point differential. I was also helped by two bot teams rolling over and dying and allowing scores of 118-34 and 111-27. What makes me happier than the PD is that in addition to the easy league games, I started off facing two bot teams and I'm facing a third this week (you're probably jealous, I know), so I get to build up super-high enthusiasm while making money to expand my arena for D.IV.

As for why my players pop so fast, remember 1v1 forwards is probably the thing that will get you the most number of pops. This is because its main skill is driving and its secondary skills are handling, jumpshot, and inside shot. DR, HA, and JS are from what I've read the skills that pop the fastest. The most valuable skills that Smiley will need (PA, JR, OD) are the slowest. So his training speed will slow down later. Plus both Smiley and Faina had high sub levels. Faina had trained for several weeks last season without popping in those skills, so I'm not surprised he triple-popped. Smiley evidently just started with high sub levels.
