Also, throwing my 2 cents in, I think we're talking way too much about tactics. Anyone can set good tactics using some planning and common sense. It's not rocket science that most teams play LI at the NT level. It's not rocket science that there will be a couple big decisions about enthusiasm that are pretty much luck of the draw if it plays out in our favor. It's not rocket science to play the players in the best game shape. It's not even rocket science to exploit other teams weaknesses. I could do all these things. Have we ever had a manager that made stupid tactical decisions other than just not setting lineups? Not that I can remember.

What the NT needs is someone with a large personality that galvanizes the community. Who were the managers during the most successful NT/U21 stretches? Jfarb, magiker, people that engaged the community, made interesting posts in this forum, got people interested in the team! That's what we need. I don't think either of these candidates are that person. Hopefully they can become that person, or that person comes along soon.

We'll ask a question along those lines in the debate for you :)

Can you also ask what their favorite pop tart flavor is? It's very crucial to my decision and I can't vote without it answered.

As Chek said he is mostly along to post within his FML Radio series. The questions are being asked in an unbiased fashion , and I have experience with moderating political debates so if anything seems questionable I will speak up to change the perception/bias.

I agree in terms of the personality type to a certain point, but some of what was done while the mentioned managers were at the helm wasn't necessarily their own doing as much as it was the fact that there was more interest from the community overall. We had scouts and others around the program posting and keeping people interested in the NT performance where as now, there are very few that even discuss things about the NT. Definitely something to look at though and try to be better moving forward.

Well yeah, but wanna know why there were people willing to scout and write reports and those kinds of things? A larger user base certainly, and there's nothing that can be done about that, but also because they liked the manager, were interested in the team, and wanted to contribute because of the manager recruiting them or getting them somehow invested in the program.

I look at it this way. Take FML Radio for example. It's really cool and chek did a great job with it! Lots of people want to be interviewed and involved! Has plenty of readers every week. But how many of those people do you think would've been interested in starting the series? Probably not a lot. I think the NT coach has to be someone like Chek, who will start it off and get people involved. People will be more than willing to help if they are engaged, but not many want to put in the beginning work of setting a foundation.

Yea I understand what you are saying. I'll keep that in mind and see what I can do.
