Honestly I was extremely surprised that I lost the way I did. I was not certain that we would win, but I thought it would close. Usually I am not the one to complain but I believe that the fix was in given the number of fouls called on my team. There was no way I could win with you getting 35 free throws. Looks like you won the league though New York, good luck in D2.

Could always try 2-3 if you're feeling bold :p

As I mentioned last week here are the end season awards, beware there will be some bias.

For MVP, the nominees are
Jason Kendrick from New York, Konstanty Szlas from Pittsburgh, and James Ruth from SM Lizards
The winner is of course Jason Kendrick, the best player by far all season and deserves the unanimous MVP

The Next Award is for the sixth man of the year the nominations are
David Sherrill from Green Gremlins, Jerry Stalings from Illiniwek, and Marvin Nurek from Galloping Sloths
The winner is Marvin Nurek, I really have nothing else to say

Best Mid-season pickup, this award is given to the player who has helped this team best that was bought after at least 5 games into season
The nominees are Rainer Steinwender from Pittsburgh, Myles Owen from Monkeykid, and Ardis Grenenbergs Grinbergs from Beachlife
The winner after much debate is Rainer Steinwender. I know it’s slightly bias but hear me out. This monstrosity of a player has been my leading scorer in 2 of the 3 playoff games and my defensive anchor. He can brutally efficient and just simply wear down opponents.

Nightmare Matchup
Nominees are Jason Kendrick, Terry Armstead from Lion Rebels, and Marlin Walo from Galloping Sloths
The winner again is Jason Kendrick, who can stop him? Not many, maybe Steinwender or Ruth on a good day, but besides that no one.

Mr Consistency
The nominees are, Jason Kendrick, Tracy Han from CC Mavs, and James Ruth
The winner for this is Tracy Han! The league leading scorer never took a night off for CC Mavs, even though they struggled Han did not.

Had to break it down into multiple sections continuing now

Defensive player of the year
The nominees are Anthony Davis from New York, Pablo Speeci from Righteous Rebellion, Ljudevit Dolic from Sloths
The winner is Anthony Davis, for being the anchor of New York and the perfect complement to Kendrick

Now the team/manager awards
First Manager of Year
The nominees are New York, Pittsburgh, and Monkeykid
The winner is New York simply because he went 22-0

Next up best Rivalry
The nominees are Beachlife vs Sloths, Pittsburgh vs SM, and Monkeykid vs Boom is Art
The winner is Beachlife vs Sloths. Usually the teams have to be from the same conference for this but I make an exception here. The lowest scoring game in BUZZERBEATER HISTORY earns you this award.

Overachieving team, given to the team that performed above expectations this season
The nominees are Pittsburgh, Monkeykid, and Beachlife
The winner is I don’t know. I was going to give to myself given I had just promoted here and made the finals, but I don’t know what everyone thought I was capable of, so I am leaving it blank and allow fellow manager to say what they think.

The Upset of the Year
The nominees are CC Mavs over Green Gremlins, Philadelphia over Monkeykid, and Rebellion over Pittsburgh
The winner which I painfully say is the Rebellion over myself. I am still steaming over that game because it cost my everything. Without that lose I would be 20-2 and earned automatic promotion to D2, and series against New York would not have mattered. I am still steaming because a team who literally FORFEITED their last game is going to cost me a trip to D2. Now that rant aside, the perfect storm happened in that game. Injuries, foul trouble, tactics, bad play pretty much everything went wrong for me and rebellion beat me.

Nice write up, I think most things are spot on, but Han did have a game off... against the Sloths (before we sold Walo, who contributed on Defense as well.)... 0-7 from downtown, under 20 over all....

Defense, its all my team has. :) Though you can note he scored 32 on us in the after Walo era.

Edit> for overachieving of those 3, I'd go Monkeykids, just based on a simple wins to player salary equation.

Why am I even in the conversation for Manager of the Year? lol
I didn't do anything special.

I also don't think my team overachieved. My team did this year what it has for the last several... we play good enough to make the playoffs and don't really do anything in said playoffs. The only difference is I didn't get booted round 1, but I'd say that's more of a fluke. That game could have gone either way.

Pittsburgh is my vote for overachiever for all the reasons mentioned. A team that just comes in here and dominates right off the bat is extremely impressive.

Myles Owen was definitely a great mid-season pick-up... but that's also kinda cheating because he's basically a cheaper, slightly less-skilled version of the guy I sold off before buying him. Was just trying to get some money. Of course, the way I play doesn't make any player look too stand-out... if I played normal basketball, Owen would probably have really good numbers on the season... but I play for training, so it's very difficult for me to get a top 5 scorer or defensive guy based on actual stats.

Maybe if I actually become happy with my team one day, I'll play properly instead of just training guys and rolling them over for new guys to train xD

Congratulations to Coach Swift and the rest of the Dragons for having that perfect season. Good Luck as you move up. Pittsburgh should be the favorite for next season. I will see you guys back in two seasons as we re-group and train.

Also, Han didn't take the night off it was just a off-night as I tried a different offensive scheme to get another player involve that didn't work. Blame that one the Coach.
