You can, and with a player like that you could ask your NT coach for help and specific advice that would be great for that player.

Oh the irony, a team called Game Over has bid.

A quick comparason.

Unknown mystery player
Shooting Guard
Weekly salary: $ 5 692
Age: 18
Height: 6'1" / 185 cm
Potential: MVP

I just went through 18 Indian teams that will be going bot this week. Not one had a player close. There was not a single 18 or 19 year old on 18 teams with MVP potential with any salary. There was also not a single 18 or 19 year old with such a salary. You got both in an 18 year old.

Out of those 18 teams this was the best young prospect.

Dhrtimat Shrivastava (25488598)
Power Forward
Owner: roar!!!
Weekly salary: $ 2 719
Age: 18
Height: 6'8" / 203 cm
Potential: superstar

Really not close to your guy. The next best was a $4k 18 year old with star potential. 18 teams! None even close to your guy in any way.

Well the good news is now you have a lot of money and can certainly do a lot of things for your team. Enjoy it.

I'd say it was a smart move. I assure you that 20k was not spent for nothing. If trained well that guy can be an amazing player. The cornerstone of your team. Get a trainer and start pumping...

i agree with IR 007. Look at my team for example with the two Dave's and the best part is you probably have more experience than i did starting off. By the way the merchandise boost you get is pretty significant

All true, but sadly I suspect that selling and rebuying the player removed the original team roster bonus with respect to merchandise. So he'll still get a boost because the player is from his the team's home country, but not the extra boost that a draftee/original player would.

The reason why I decided to trade him was because I know I do not have the financial capabilities to get him to his potential. So I thought selling him would be more beneficial.

That might be true. But having a real franchise player from you own starting team/draft can be rewarding too. My team is nearly full of "my" players and i get about 35% of their weekly salary as merchandise back. (ok my team isnt that great right now, but still the numbers count)

If you train him and you can climb up the leagues to at least III. maybe II. you still can afford him and he might be your personal star.

Just found this thread, but I think paying to keep him is a great choice. You should have 2 goals for the next couple seasons. One is to win as many games as possible by putting the best lineup out there every night. If you thought I was just going to say "train this guy," that's more important but to be honest it's incredibly easy. Just be sure he gets 48 minutes a week at whatever you're training, and if it's possible for the skill, single position train (some skills like Jump Shot and One on One only train with 2 positions, so those would be the only times you'd 2 position train).

I'm about 3 seasons into a training program like this with one of my players who I intend on turning into a 80-100k star PG, so let me know if you have any questions.

*EDIT* Forgot to mention, you can always sell him in a couple seasons for a bigger profit if you want to move in a different direction.
