The system of Playoffs, and Promotion and Demotion of Teams is not well done from my point of view.
If just 1 team out of 16 can promote is going to make a lot of teams stuck in a division for ages.
Taking into account the number of bots we have in higher divisions this doesn´t help to hook many users.
In Spain First Division we already have 5 bots, meaning that al least one of them is going to continue next season in our group.
Right now I don´t see many complaints about this but they will come soon when teams realise how difficult is to promote.
So I give my personal idea of how we could solve this problem (from my point of view):
PromotionThe four top-ranked teams in each conference will make it into the playoffs. There is a one-game elimination match between the 1st- and 4th-ranked teams and between the 2nd- and 3rd-ranked teams in each conference, followed by an elimination match between the two winners. When these champions are decided, the winners from each conference face off in a best-of-three showdown. The winner of the division finals is crowned champion of the division, and is promoted to a higher level of divisions.
And I will also add that the runners-up of every two divisions will play a single-match elimination between them. The team with the higher standing from the finals is given the home-court advantage.
DemotionSix teams from each division will be demoted to a lower level of divisions. The 7th and 8th seed in each conference will be automatically demoted, and the 5th-ranked team from each conference competes with the 6th-ranked team from the other conference in a best-of-three relegation series.
