So I am currently trying to build my team from the ground up. I inheriented a pretty crappy team last year, I've made a few moves to pick up a PF, C and PG and have started my rookie SF for most of the year. My question I guess is, is it worth taking 3 or 4 seasons to improve on your team or should I try to pick up 1 or 2 star quality players a season? I'm OK with being medicore for a while if it means I will build a solid foundation, but if that isn't the case I'd be more inclined to improve through free agency. Looking for thoughts and opinions.

Cheers

I dont think there is a quick "fix". Its a slow steady climb to the top you have a decent set of role players but no young trainees. Your youngest is 19 with role player potential. I think what you need to do is choose whether you want to train big men or small and buy one or two 18-19 year old trainees (preferably 18.) With at least all star potential and similar skills that you can train.

Take your time watching the transfer list. While you want someone with a decent potential so you can keep them long term and build your team around them you dont want to overpay. Try to find players with high defense already as it will help your team and is also one of the slower skills to train.

Feel free to BBmail if you have questions

If you just started, i would stick with star potential. They are not only cheaper but also don't reach potential that fast, so you could train them till they are 21.
