Depending if you've got an career extending trainer.. but I reckon around 27-28 your players start dropping relatively fast. (2-4 drops a season perhaps)

I had a 29 y.o PF who was the unanimous MVP in a Div IV league. He is now 34 and still contributes a little to my club. He jumped in one skill at 29 and did
not
drop in any skills until he was 33—lost one level in SB and one in passing last season. So I would not think that any player in his 20s would drop any skill levels (other than in stamina as all players sometimes do unless trained regularly in that skill)...Pappy

I have a level 1 doctor with no speciality. I have a 32 year old and until recently I had a 34 year old.
The 34 year old dropped 2 stats last season (1 in stam the other was in driving i think) and the 32 year old has had no drops so far, i've owned him for as long as i've played the game (2.5 seasons).
So the deteriation appears to be slow. I'd doubt they start dropping skills until they're 30, and it appears slow until they are 33+.
I'd like to note, however, that both my players are sub-$10000 a week players. Perhaps players with higher skills start deteriating quicker?

I have had skill drops only for players above 30. Significant skill drops have started at about 35.

I had a 34 year old center drop a point in inside shot recently but I gained it back the following week with training. =)

Amazing. Never had a pop in a player over 30 except in FTs!
