I am pretty steamed at the moment, because additional five minutes where added to the auction time was added at the last minute. Why does this happen? An auction should end when it says it ends, what's with the overtime?

If anybody has some insight into this that would be great!

If a winning bid is put in for a player/staff within 3 minutes of the closing time, the new closing time will be reset to 3 minutes from the time of the last bid.

It's to avoid an ebay-style transfer system, where people put in bids at the last second. Believe me - that would be more frustrating than having to wait 3 minutes and actually pay a fair price.

From the Rules:

"We know that transmission delays can happen for a few seconds at the very end of an auction. Therefore, whenever a user places a bid on a player, the time remaining in an auction is extended so that three minutes must pass with no new bids before the auction is over."
