Hello, I am looking at trying to go really well in the draft this season and I have committed alot of money into over the last few seasons.
My question is what am i looking for in the draft?? I know I look for age and go for the 18 year olds but what's the next thing to look for? I have this guy but his potential is only 1 where as the other guy has potential of 5.
Some guys look better than others but the potential or grade rating isn't as good and vice versa.
Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

never draft someone with potential rating of 1, they belong to the bottom of the list no matter what their properties are. Draft potential first.

Hey there!
In general, I think the primary goal of the draft is to find 5 ball potential players. Everything past that/in addition to that is fluff/minor preferences.
Always go 5 ball potential players over all 4 ball potential players and always go 4 ball potential players over all 3 ball potential players. In fact, all players with 3 ball potential or lower are generally pretty useless from a training aspect because you cannot train them to be viable in higher leagues and/or can find better training prospects on the transfer list for very cheap.
I did create a full BB draft guide if you were interested in a more in-depth explanation on what to value in the draft:

After the draft is there a way of looking at where all the picks were positioned on your Board or only where your own picks were?
Also there seems to be fewer 5x5 players on my Board this season - I remember seeing they were making changes so that the 5 ball pot guys had a higher base level potential?
Is that why there are fewer?
What are the 4 and 5 ball potential levels these days do we know?

Only where your own picks were.
Yes, in theory there are less 5-ball prospects because the criteria has been tightened/changed to be more accurate.
4 ball potential = 7-8 potential
5 ball potential = 9-10 potential (and 11 but that’s incredibly rare).

I'm not sure if you know this, but just a heads up - every default loss you have in league games drops you down in draft order. So right now you have 6th pick in draft.
