Season 29 Gold Anniversary

This season marks the 10th season anniversary of the s29 U21 National Team Worlds Gold run. In season 29 (over 2 years ago real time), the USA U21 NT won back-to-back gold medals (and 4 straight gold medals counting Americas). We became the first U21 NT since s13 to play an offense not named Look Inside in the championship game and win. We also became the first team EVER to start the 2nd round of Worlds 0-3 and come back to win the tournament.

The U21 NT Staff at the time consisted of retired managers, fewmit, Phyr, jfarb, and magiker as well as current managers, tough, A Warrior, Oreo Dunker, Birdzilla123, Knowledge, and myself.

This journey featured perhaps two of the best USA U21 NT players ever, in Sam Lindley and Stewart Tripp. Both players played every single U21 NT game in s28 and s29, lead all U21 NT players ever in games played, and were the two biggest key pieces for our Worlds run. Sam Lindley is still #1 all time in blocks (31) and #2 all time in rebounds (207), and Stewart Tripp is still #1 all time in minutes played for the U21 NT, as well as #1 all time assists (130) and steals (30). To boast even more about Stewart Tripp, he held his opponents this Worlds season to 17% shooting. 17% would also be #1 all time for a Worlds guard.

In the semi-finals and finals, the USA U21 NT combined for 3 incorrect guesses by opponents, and a correct guess for us in the championship to lead us to our eventual 98-93 victory over Italy! (31550)

Get pumped and get excited!! The USA has not seen a Worlds Gold since this last run in s29, so now the goal is to win another! We have a very solid team this season and have some high hopes for a deep run in this upcoming tournament. Even better, you can help be a part of our next Worlds Gold!

Can you tell me what the discord is about?

Just a chat for USA managers to talk to each other about general stuff, and BB stuff, as well as game plan and talk about training, strategies, and players, among other things! There is a link posted above where you can find our discord! Kind regards!

Is most of the gameplanning now done on Discord? I left for like 2 seasons and it seems to me the activity level on the gameplanning front through the offsite forum itself has gone wayyyyyyy down.

Unfortunately, i was not good enough to get the USA into the finals, settling for another Bronze. Now it's time for someone else to continue the work on getting USA managers involved, as i relinquish my job and admin powers on discord in favor of a new u21 manager. Hopefully they win it all in season 41.

Don't worry, I'm back like cancer. Or something else less sensitive. Either way, I'm here.
