I was filling out my lineups for next week and in honor of my upcoming game with BigShots this week, I wanted to post a throw-back to our first meeting:

I thought it was pretty great that our first game was a 2OT thriller, considering we have played 10 times and we've each won 5. And Brooks scored 25....Quinn never could stop him!

I know I'll probably lose this week, but it's always a pleasure playing an old friend.

so everyone in the NBBA is rebuilding+tanking?

all 16 teams can't relegate though...

Keep in mind, Marshland is running with the exact same roster they had when they were in the NBBA last season...so it's not like they are a typical D2 team....That said, of course all 16 NBBA teams are not tanking rebuilding...but its impossible to put 100% effort into both league games and the cup game each week without killing Game Shape....that is what creates the opportunity for a non-NBBA to win once in a blue moon...Also, as it turns out, some of the better NBBA teams had some tougher cup draws earlier in the tournament and may have gambled with their roster and got knocked out early.

Flash Mashers had a significant injury, and poor game shape from running with just 6 and 7 players for the whole season...It was the perfect storm for Marshland to win....They deserve a lot of credit, and huge praise for such an accomplishment...that said, my personal belief is that game was the 1 in 10 that Marshland would beat Flash Mashers with all things being the same if they played 10 times.

It's an incredible accomplishment...not an indictment of the NBBA. Congrats to Coach Dean!

That Monday when you log in after being eliminated from the playoffs and expect to have your draft picks only to find out there's still a week in the season.
