Apparently I'm playing a Cup game and it also says it's a " National Tournament" game. I thought I'd be playing a scrimmage game. Can someone enlighten me?

Everyone plays in the Cup. Once you're out of the Cup you can organise a scrimmage instead. More info on the Cup in the Game Manual.
