Similar to the scrimmages finders, this option is used for transfer.

I understand that cheating might happen if players exchange between two teams is allowed. But, how about let BB narrow down the trading options?

The principle is:
1. Owners list the available players for trading.
2. BB narrow down which players could be exchanged from other teams.
3. Owners could propose the trades to other owners, to accept / reject.
4. If both owners are happy and the players fulfil BB's requirements.

* The way narrow down is up to BB, this could be done by age, skills' sum, salary ... to be further discussed. Another issue is how we justify guard skills vs forward skills.

Feel free to leave your idea(s) here, any suggestion in favour/against is welcome.

Haven't you just defeated your own suggestion right there? It seems that at best trading would just provide another way to game the game and/or steal from noobs. And trading isn't needed, anyway, imo.

it's very rare that I'm looking to add a player of the same value

in real life, trading is also not looking at same value. "player wise"

Trading in real life, particularly in the NBA now with Free Agency being what it is, trading is usually for financial gain, be it immediate or long term. Its also it minimze risk - eg: trade away a player whom you know you wont be able to afford next season, before he opts out of his 4th year option, or walks to another team via free agency and you were left with nothing.

If trading were made like this in BB, then the intricacies of free agency, contracts expiring etc etc would need to be introduced. too hard.

I think your statement is very valid and pretty much explains why we don't need trading. Think about it - How many times have you seen Team A buy a player from Team B, and then Team B buy a player from Team A

If someone can show me when this has ever actually happened, I will be astounded.

One thing I don't understand is:

If you don't want specific teams buying each other's players, why does the league page show me which players are available for sale in my league?

That seems to me to be just asking for one team to sell off a player so they can tank to another team that could really use that player to win the playoffs.

That is far from having a link with trading.

I wasn't addressing trading. I was responding specifically to your post where you explained that two teams transferring players between them using the Transfer List would be cheating if they did not sell their players at reasonable prices, even going so far as to say that the GM's would adjust the profits they made to make it a "fair" trade.

You can buy a player from someone in your league. It happens often at the top of a country since they are all looking for the same type of player (best of your home nation).

...

You know that your opponent might be weaker if he successfully sell a player. That also means he could buy another player in the near future and you will follow that.

These are all good arguments as to why a certain transfer may occur, but doesn't really address my question.

Knowing that an opponent of your league is selling a player doesn't mean that encourage intra conference transfer. It's a way to monitor your opponent amongst other. It has seldom nothing to do with trading also.

Then why is BB showing me specifically the players in my league that are for sale? That gives anyone in my league essentially first bid on any of those players. It's free transfer list scouting that takes me no time but a click on my league page.

And, the way I understand it, you guys won't even do anything due to the large number of daily transactions if teams "swap" players this way unless someone from the league that is affected complains. You are incentivizing intra league transfers by making them common knowledge in the league. Also, BB is giving an advantage to league members over a team that is selling off a player (by your own admission):

It is also useful if the player is not sold in the end since you now know his skillset. You can also make your own opinion of what skillset your opponent is looking after or have build his team.

by giving player skill information to everyone in that league.

The things you guys think are cheating in this game never ceases to amaze me.

you are sorta right
the league page show me which players are available for sale in my league

tactically, from a game/season perspective, knowing that an opponent is selling in, perhaps an attempt to upgrade before seasons end, is tactically good information.

Now your right - knowing that that team is selling means you get first dibs on him. But everything from there on in is a normal purchase and will go through the normal purchase scrutiny.

buying a player for too much/too little etc.

so whilst the information on the league screen does give you notice that someone in your league is selling a player, and that does enable you to bid on him first, everything after is the same as me finding a player on the transfer market.
