That's clearly something that has to change.
Today, IRL, when an outsider loose with a small margin (let's say less than 10 points) against a team that was supposed to beat them with more than 20 points (due to roster differences) supporters feel very good that their team played at maximum even if they loose. On the opposite, supporters from the big team fill like their team played a bit too much "easy" and did not put the effort that they were supposed to put in.
I really think that the ending score, the fact that a game ended after OT, and the enthousiasm putted in a game should affect supporters humours.
We currently also have in the game some kind of supporter "boost" when you get promote, wich works let's say until the inter-conference games. The effect is going down all the season along.
I think that this should also apply to TV games and rival games poll.
Losing against your rival and winnig all the other games should decrease the negative effect for this lost, and the opposite, winning only against you rival and lossing everything else should decrease the positive effect for this win.
Talking about rival, i also think that today the system is a bit unfair, as some teams are rivals of 2-3 teams while others are not rival of any team. Please, this should IMO be balanced to 1 for eveyone.
I would also said that the cup performance from last season should be also taken in account in last season supporter's thought.
Eventually, the global poll note should be a bit more clear about effectiveness on arena incoming :
0.5 / 1 balls : big lost of incoming
1,5 / 2 balls : lost of incoming
2,5 balls : small lost of incoming / same incoming
3 balls : small increase of incoming / same incoming
3,5 / 4 : increase of incoming
4,5 / 5 big increase of incoming
Incoming increase/decrease are obviously limited in a way due to ligue level and season ticket holders.
I'll finally ad something more : we saw lat season in NBA (or 2 seasons ago ?) that San Antonio Spurs were fined for not putting their better players on the ground in Miami during the regular season. I think that putting a fine is not a way to encourage team to play with a good roster, but that 0.5 note should be given if 3/5 biggests salary of a team are not playing a game that end with a loss, and that taking a huge loss but with your better players on the ground should be given a 1/1.5 note.
I don't know if all the things i'm trying to explain are clear, but that's clearly a point that should be improved, because i think that as economy rules the game, touching arena incomes might make it more competitive, giving stability to teams that are trying to play at the same level every time and sanction teams that choose their games...
