Thank you for the question. Actually, the existing problem is very complex and depends on many factors such as local managers who draft players, foreign users who have bought them and of course coaching staff. For my part, I should distribute players to clubs and provide the best efficiency from the trainings.
Also I should establish a contact with all u21 players’ owners, offer them a training plan and prove the importance of training every particular player, show all benefits of owning the national team player. Actually, u21 coach is responsible for the senior team roster, but with a few seasons delay.
Now let’s talk about current situation. We have like 4-5 20-21 years old players, who are able to join the senior team in the nearest future if they will be training well. I haven’t analyzed this season draft in depth, but there are 2 high potential (9+) players with high salary that gives us hope and some others worthy players. But there is a big dilemma. There are only 4 active managers in South Africa now, so we have only 12 draftees per season. That is the minimum number of players that require u21 NT. But here stands another problem, this 4 local users cant train all their 3 draftees every year efficiently, because they the next season it will be 6 young players that can’t be train enough together or managers may have senior team players that requires training. So local users should sell their draftees, but no one needs low potential noskills from other countries. In this situation I suggest not a popular solution, but it can be useful for national teams. Players with decent skill and 7+ potential should be sold and others should be train by locals. That may be seen as stupid, but in this case both groups are training well we have strong youth team. Players below 7 potential after reaching 22 years don’t require training and can be just good role players for their team and the best 7+ players can be bought back later.
Of course, we won’t see the result during this season or even the next, but I am going to make a strong base for next generations.
