Everyone knows how bad the current draft system is so I want to propose a new way. Introduce a new staff addition to the game that includes a draft scout. Every team can pay for a scout similar to all staff ranging from basic to worl-renown.
Every team will then be given the age and height of every player to start the season because, well let's be honest, in real life you will already know their age and height too.
Each week, every team will then be able to scout one player. This is where the scout level comes in handy. Basic trainers will not be able to scout very well. So you will not get the best information on a player. The scout may say its a five star potential player but turn out to only be starter potential. However, on the flipaide a world renowned scout will have the exact potential of each player scouted.
This way you still have to pay to scout, but have a say in how much and how accurate the info is on each prospect.
You could take it a step further and allow everyone to see how good a player starts at, like 1-5 balls, but you have to scout potential. This could benefit the 19yos in the draft and make them more important because good teams know the 18yos will be taken in the draft before them so they might target the good 19yos.
So overall:
- every team would still pay money to scout
- same skill level for scouts as other staff
- 19yos could be targeted more in draft
- you are given player age and height to start
