There are times where I want to just start over-I do that all the time in video games...
I get a feel fro the game, understand some of the nuances, then restart, making the neccessary adjustments. My friend hate playing any kind of RPG with me because Im always like, "Oh, now I get it...lets start over."
But then I realise that such a big big part of the game is the arena, and while the wining is fun, I've become more about getting a great draft pick (Jimmy Majors) training him exclusively one on one, and building a team around him.
So it's tinker here, tinker there. Several items I've noticed: I used to train stamina, but I no longer do. Jimmy Majors minutes are the one Im most focused on, so with Jimmys stamina being somewhat mediocre, he only plays appox 35 minutes per game, twice a week. Its so much easier, basically turn-key. When I won my league and advanced to DIV 3, I had trained my team of 28-33 year olds in nothing but stamina and free throws. But untill Jimmy is out of his optimum training window, I will refrain from any stamina or free throws.
I think the move for a superior trainer early on was worth it, but I had to sacrifice all my allstar 28 year olds. Jimmy has multiple pops almost every week (elastic effect) and Im almost done doing his big man skills. When his inside defense and inside scoring are both at 5, I will commit to maxxing his guard skills. He's already proficent in his passing, has excellent defense and is starting to score at a nice clip.
