There's the line-up in question: http://www.dowce.com/~JnB

The idea stems from how many good passers I have in the team right now: Cauldwell, Butkovic, Bradbury and Murphy can all get assists against the quality of teams I'm expecting to play next season (Division III Australia has it's fair share of good teams and bad teams)... and the bench can pass well too, with only 2 players on it not having at least decent passing skills. Of course, training and game shape would mean I can't run the line-up I 'dwant to run all the time (Cauldwell, Butkovic, Bradbury, Murphy, with the center being someone good off the transfer market), but in theory it could work since Princeton relies on having a lot of good passers and ball handlers in your team.

But, in this game players shoot a lot of 3's in the Princeton and as you can see, I only have one really 'good' 3pt shooter in the line-up (Novakovic), meaning my 3pt% would probably be low against actual defence. Secondly, would it really trump a look inside or low post offence run with the same 5 players? That's the big question and the answer is probably no since LI is such a powerful offence in this game.

There was a team in my league back in Season 21 that actually had some success with the Princeton, though that might have had more to do with his PG and SG being 3pt sharpshooters than the offence actually clicking. Still, he did pull off some big upsets that season, and against 3-2 zones at that: (49564643), (49564692), (49564781). Still mad about those upsets because it cost me my spot in division III that season. But it does give the idea of Princeton being a usable tactic some weight...

I would say you're probably not ideally suited for Princeton as it is at least based on the players on the screenshot. While Murphy's passing is definitely a positive factor, the downside is that you're going to have to play another big man with either 2 or 3 passing along side him or at least as a backup when you bring in your new big man. Also, you definitely will want jump range and driving higher if you're going to run it - it's an offense where anyone can take a three or drive to the basket, so having those skills (along with passing and handling) represented in all five spots on your lineup is helpful.

The one advantage you might see from Princeton is slowing the game down some compared to motion and especially compared to R&G. It's also pretty good at targeting defensive mismatches if you have any. I just think you'd like to have a little more JR to be able to run it effectively, but certainly experiment with it to see if your experience is better or worse than expected. When it works, it's great fun and when it's off, it can be horribly off.
