I was going to continue training passing until at least 7 and then start working IS/REB/ID in that order. Does anyone have any better ideas? I am not sure how good I can make a player like this in the long haul.

2 or 3 levels of OD would also be good to help defend PF's with good JS.

Being in D.V I would focus on getting his OD up this season and then work on his inside skills. It would make him more salary efficient for you and will add masses to his transfer value when, inevitably, you will have to sell him. Raising passing to 7 and working on his other secondaries as well will again boost his transfer value and make sure his salary doesn't grow too big too fast.

I would train OD to 10 and then boost his inside skills as high as you can afford. Then work his secondaries. Should give you a 7 figure prospect for the transfer market once you're ready to sell him. Check out the prices of guys with 10 OD minimum and 12 ID minimum on the market just now. If you have secondaries to boot, jackpot!

Also, a few pops in JS wouldn't go a miss but I'm not sure what impact that would have on his salary so I would stick to the above plan before doing this. If anyone can help me out here that would be great.

This is just my opinion though. I have a similar trainee but his OD is awful so he has a bit more work on that front.

As a Power Forward I would like him to at least have these guard skills before starting big training.
Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: strong Handling: strong
Driving: proficient Passing: respectable

I'm going to disagree slightly with CoachSK on how i'd build him.

3 PA Trainings, 5 pressures this season. with a lvl 4 trainer, he'd be close to this:

7/3/7/8/9/7 outside skills, 6/5.5/7/4

6 JS (PG/SG), 2 OnevOne (PG/SG)

by age 19 ASG:

10/4/7/9/10/7 outside, same inside.

This will allow your player to remain salary efficient at a low initial cost to you (8-9k salary cost). Additionally, it will make him good to go for pretty much the long haul on all outside training, at the cost of initially in his first two seasons hurting you at PG and then at C/PF. If you killed in on inside training, you could have a guy thats got relatively equal inside and outside game by age 21, which would be quite scary.

Thanks guys. I will work on his outside skills and hit the inside skills later on. I appreciate the advice.

I will disagree a bit with tough and CoachSK. Since he has superstar potential, he can be trained for another 6 or 7 seasons, if done correctly.

Jump Shot: strong Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: strong Handling: strong
Driving: strong Passing: strong
Inside Shot: sensational Inside Def.: sensational
Rebounding: sensational Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: mediocre
Experience: pitiful

That would be what I would try to shoot for in guard skills. If you want, you could give him more outside training. As for his inside skills, you can use your own discretion. This will give him a salary of 22k, give him a cap score of 18.93, which means he will still have a bit more than 5 points left until he enters his soft cap, and users would pay lots of money for a player with a similar build.

You might want to check out the training simulator (229484.1). It can give you a sense of how your trainee will develop with the training you want to give him.
