USA National team.
I purchased a player for development who is young and as I'm only in division five, this purchase was fine.

However, one of the reasons I also liked this player was he was listed on the USA national team. In a post I asked a few days ago was about merchandise income, and a couple answers said a national team player pumped up this income.

A few hours after I bought him, he was dropped from the team. My question is how is the national team selected, and it seems odd he would be on it until he was sold and then immediately dropped? Thoughts or Comments?

Player (27257242)

The player was almost certainly added temporarily to log his skills to the database, so that the NT scouts can know about him and can follow up with the player's owner over time, finding out if he's being trained effectively and so forth.

He was added to the U21 team because his manager was about to go bot. If he wasn't on the NT then when his owner went bot he would have retired. Once he was 'saved' the NT had no use for him. In large countries like the USA generally it is that competitive that only 21 year olds would make the team as best players. Even Australia as a medium sized country rarely has any players under 21.

OK, Thank You.
I guess that is why it listed his team as "Free Agent."

I know it's off topic but, remember to train him. He has a good salary for an 18 year old, and great potential.

U21 doesn't actually pump up the merchandising very much, but anyway you got a great player for a great price.
