I was wondering how much certain players might play in the following situation with the substitution set as strictly follow.
starter backup reserve
PG A D E
SG B D E
SF C D E

Would player E get in the game at all or would A B and C just play a ton of minutes. I have a good combo guard that I would like to play as a primary backup for all three positions but I have a secondary backup that I would like to play a little as well. It would be nice to have D sub in most times but also have E join him at times when the starters need more rest.

Any Ideas?

E will probably get a couple mins if its not a close game, D will probably only get like 20 mins, and A, B, C will probably get a ton of mins, 1 or 2 of them might even get 48 mins.

for strictly follow depth chart it is dependent on stamina, player D will get in the game for whoever has lower stamina of player A, B or C. I haven't tried this reserve pattern but my best guess is that player E will only get minutes if you blow your opponent out and player D will not probably play 3 positions, most likely 2. From my experience combo guard is for 2 positions so if you want D and E to play together player D should only sub for 2 positions you pick, and E will be dedicated to subbing for one position, whichever makes more sense. Unless of course A, B or C gets injured during the game, then this substitution pattern works.
