Hello, fellows! I am stuck in the same division for ages, partly due to lack of dedication (i play HT as well)

Would someone please take a look at my team and suggest a line of action to improve it?(24540)

I train PG/SG and i have 1,8M to spend, have just sold some inadequate players...

Thanks, folks!

i don't see you leaving for DIII for a couple of seasons, unless you train and sell a couple of the 18 year olds and buy more competitive players.

i think you have too many players to train -- i counted 4 guards, one 19 year old PF, and a 20 year old G. Unless you want to give the PF some guard skills, and train each player 48 minutes, two position training . . .

as far as a plan, i took a look at the top team in each division and saw that they had a similar structure -- one or two very well paid players and no depth. i think if you worked for a team with depth, seven - eight players with a salary range from $15,000 to $30,000, you could get out of DIII. i would look to exchange a couple of youngsters for older, cheap veterans to help you get there.

bottom line:
1) sell three or four trainees -- keep two, three maximum.
2) evaluate what it would take to make 5th place, possibly the playoffs.
3) buy just enough talent to make sure that happens.
4) otherwise, sit on the money, train, and buy the talent to move out next season or the season after. prices for players are at their highest right now -- buy between seasons or at the beginning of the next.

good luck

Right now i have really 4 young trainees and 2 older, 2 position training

I have 6 players in the plus 15k salary range; if need be, i can field 4 regular players and a trainee, since both my sf are versatile, i.e. they play in any position. Backcourt is strong (PF and C), so i feel i can give some trouble to my counterparts this season, although i am inclined to wait a litte bit, using my 1,2M surplus to buy in the offseason cheap players: 1 SF and one more PF/C and really try to climb the ladder next season, when my 20 y.o. PG would be better.

My main problem is that i can't quite figure how the game engine thinks, even roughly. I cannot explain my loss here [match= 42784456], for example

I tend to use a patient approach, historically

Any tips on that direction?

I would keep Vágvölgyi and Orcaner as your trainees and sell/drop every other trainee in my opinion. Personally i feel like you could promote next season possibly. Things i noticed and what i think you should do:

1. Your best 7 players are all Forwards or Centers so it seems like you are lacking guards.
2. Your best 4 or 5 players all are young/young enough so you set for a couple seasons with keeping them at least.
3. Your perimeter defense seems to be the reason you lost a few of you game for it tends to land in the awful-inept range, which is very low for a III. league team in my opinion.

What i think you should do: With that 1.8million bucks you have you should try to buy a PG and an SG with really good outside defense, handling, and passing. Also try to get some with decent inside shot (Since you play inside tactics a lot) I would look for something like this:

PG: Age (24-27)
OD- Sensational
HND- Prominent
PAS- Prominent
Inside Shot- mediocre

SG: Age (24-27)
OD- Sensational
HND- Strong
PAS- Proficient
Inside Shot- Respectable

Also don't worry to much about their jump shot and jump range just as long as they are both above respectable/strong. If you play look inside then their jump shots and ranges wont matter as much but these two would still give you better offensive flow, inside shot (due to their passing), and outside defense. If you got two players with sensational+ outside D then you OD rating could easily go from awful-inept range to average-respectable range, which would make your team much stronger.

This is just my opinion though so please do what you think will work best.

Expand your arena, you need at least 16.000 steats if you want to promote and be succesful .

Build like:
5900
4200
420
