all season one team has stood out the SmeltzTroopers behind their former NT player and manytime fishbowl MVP Ky Smeltz they were looking unbeatable and were until they ran into a certain little fishy who gave him his 1 defeat & as a result they bought in

to try & make their team more balanced

recent sales have netted a million $ & smeltz claims he is getting a $300k center, he also have a really easy ride to the finals & can tie all the way with no serious opposition

jw is a smart manager & the tosser is a star in the league but he probably lacks the depth of the troopers & goldfish especially if there are more purchases as expected

odds
SmeltzTroopers 65%

Glenelg Tigers (38818)
Ranked: 13
Started: season 6
Expected Record: 21-1
Best player:
coin toss Bernabé da Gudiña or Fan Chung Ling but ill go with
Bernabé da Gudiña (11421943) Center
Weekly salary: $ 93 715
Age: 26
Height: 7'1" / 216 cm
Potential: perennial allstar

this is the most unbalanced league in d2 with all 8 of the big 8 teams being better this season than all but the top 3 of the great 8 & all 3 top teams being big 8

sorry to the dons (great essendon supporters), rozzie (our own aussie gangsta) & South Brisbane Vultures (australia's unluckiest team, just ask koop) but unless there is a big splash this week the real final will be between the top 2 in the big 8

glenelg have been in d2 since season 11 & are rock solid, deep & well managed & have hca which will be massive, even better HSDO & Menstrals have to face each other first

contenders
High School Drop-outs (38631)
Ranked: 25
Started: season: 4
Expected Record: 18-4
Best player:
Loc Chung (9260875) Shooting Guard
Weekly salary: $ 119 223
Age: 27
Height: 6'1" / 185 cm
Potential: hall of famer

had a record 13 seasons in div 2/4 before making abbl last season probably has deep deep deep resources but may not want to spend when glenelg looks so tough & they do have a good roster already

has to face the menstrals in the first match of the playoffs & that is a bloody c*** of a first round matchup

South Victoria Menstrals (38671)
Ranked: 15
Started: season: 3
Expected Record: 16-6
Best player:
Taree Darcy (8158028) Shooting Guard
Owner: South Victoria Menstrals
Weekly salary: $ 78 382
Age: 28
Height: 6'5" / 196 cm
Potential: superstar

started way back in season 3 & spend 11 seasons in 2/3 they must also surely have a massive slush fund would be fun if these 3 teams got into a war of escalation like smeltz and me

also cool that like smeltz, adam & me his best player is a home grown player that has spent his entire career with the same team

odds
50% Glenelg Tigers
25% High School Drop-outs
15% South Victoria Menstrals
10% others peacenroll, dons, saucers or SBV

contenders

Aussie Pride (196262)

aussie is one of the nice guys of aussie bb, after an inury maybe cost him promotion last season he has continued on steady as ever, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of bb & noone can hope to outsmart him but right now he doesnt look to have the horses to match vios

another of my old rivals from the super hard 3/6 this is bbs version of evil russell from survivor, there is nothing he wont do to win and being both really smart and really ruthless is a deadly combination, never turn your back for a second cause a dagger is heading your way

odds
35% Vios Violationers
25% Aussie Pride
20% VictoriaMages
20% others including All-Sorts, TEAM LORDY, Snuffles, Moosas Mad Men and Stone Slashers OMG what a deep bunch of teams!

Western Titans (38765)

Expected Record: 21-1 or 20-2
Best player:
Uditi Samdup (10839360) Center
Weekly salary: $ 100 433
Age: 26
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: perennial allstar
Game Shape: strong

udi is a former u21 player & another homegrown star but actually who is the best player is now really close with young upcomer Bento Filho (14853013) due to be the best sometime very soon

this is a no nonsense team with incredible defence and a variety of offensive options that is very well managed, you can always expect the best possible enthusiasm & game shape from the titans

problem is their last game is a hard one & they need it to ensure HCA vs slam

contenders

Slam ! (196147)
Ranked: 35
Started: season: 11
Expected Record: 20-2
Best player:
David Mugione (7939698) Center
Weekly salary: $ 193 979
Age: 29
Height: 7'3" / 221 cm
Potential: hall of famer

famed for a lot of things
* most unbalanced roster in all of d2 in season 16 with a 350k big man backup up by various scrubs
* most injured roster in all of d2 in season 17 with a constant string of LONG injuries
* dominance in the fishbowl east last season
* that space before the !

this season they are much more balanced, almost as dangerous as mugoine is Meelis Klaar they have a chance to take hca for the entire playoffs if titans fall & look very strong

these 2 teams have it almost sewn up between them but i will just have a very quick look at the other 4 with an outside chance

Screaming Eagles (196344)
Ranked: 17
Started: season: 9
Expected Record: 17-5 or 16-6

important last game v titans to keep hca over lazio@ who also have a tough game vs actblaze

they seem to turn their team over a lot & train game shape so they will be in top conditions for the playoffs but have to face lazio@ in the first round

lazio@ (38833)
Ranked: 22
Started: season: 12
Expected Record: 17-5 or 16-6

won a lot of championships as they have either won or relegated almost every season, chances of doing that again are very low

they are also the second youngest d2 team i know of after season 13s CCCPBA (Aust. Div.) so being a contendor is really impressive they have some talent up front but lack of depth will hurt badly

West Island Tigers (38893)
Ranked: 29
Started: season: 10
Expected Record: 16-6

all aussie team with a huge front line starring the man-dick but a lack of quality guards will stop them competing wth the top teams

The Victorian Allstars (38750)
Ranked: 31
Started: season: 8
Expected Record: 14-8

my old rival from division 3/6 the toughest aussie d3 by a mile, they beat me in season 12 finals but struggled in d2 were relegated but have bounced back strong have an uphill battle looking at away games the entire playoffs and some much more expensive rosters in their way

odds
45% Western Titans
40% Slam!
15% the others Screaming Eagles, lazio@, West Island Tigers or The Victorian Allstars

Awesome write ups, gives me some insight into some of the other dII's, first season in DII for me so haven't really got a feel for who is who but I will make one comment on your medians, I didn't finish 4th with the current roster, I had approx 350k roster for 3/4s of the season.

On 280 I would be in 8th in the red side of II.4, Ms decided to tank early in the piece but I believe that was because he lost his first 4 games including a loss to myself which quickly prompted a sell out, Karmar has been rarely spotted around BB so hasn't paid as much attention as he would've liked (rough quote from our forum) and Naker got enough wins up to keep him afloat then sold up to collect some coin..

Anyway I am picking Titans from my league, too balanced for Slam and will use HCA to take out the Eagles. I would have to go with the favourites from the other leagues..

I'll also contribute to this well written thread, representing 2.2 TOUGH SIDE!!

As Brett mentioned, the team salaries have been changing a lot during the season. I think Belmore Aces had the most expensive roster for a long time but they recently sold their 100k+ players.

I'd give more credit to HSD and less to GT. HSD looks like a lot more balanced and I remember reading somewhere that GT is in no hurry to win the championship.

However you're totally right when saying the promoting team is on the west side.

I regret having to say that we will miss Chucky and his eggplants next season, too. We will most likely welcome 2 new teams on our side and I sincerly hope that we land a couple of tankers that could let us breath a little bit.
