Since the all-star break is just around the corner I decided to come up with a simple formula called PER, or Player Efficiency Rating. It basically tells us how efficient each player is in the time he is out on the court. I largely thank Natellio for this formula, but I just made a few changes to make it balance out a bit more. If you don't trust me, here's the formula I used:

((pts+reb+ast+stl+blk)-((FGA-FGM)+(FTA-FTM)+TO))/(MPG/48)/10
^Sorry if this confuses you!!! :)

Here are the ratings! For our purposes I am only rating starters, but bakups sure could be more efficient than your actual starters.

Big 8 Centers:

1. Januszek (12208962): 40.42
2. Berkovic (10820472): 38.93
3. Truong (19250926): 38.12
4. Newberry (13886994): 37.67
5. Mitkov (3141708): 34.62
6. Atze (9583115): 29.54
7. Littlefield (21862837): 19.43
8. Staley (23455656): 11.32

Really awesome work! You are doing your job to keep the boards running and in my opinion doing a great job evaluating as well. Keep it up, I'll chime in as much as I can.

P.S. I really appreciate your guys responses. BB's a lot more fun when people are involved IMO. I just sent messages to the new guys telling them to get involved in the forums and ask me any questions if they have them. Hopefully they become active as well.

Haha, unfortunately, its looking like you probably will. You took over a team that was in last place and even if you get to 7th, you'll probably have to be playing a team thats been in the d.4 for awhile. It may actually be better for you though, because most people start out in the d.5 anyway, and its a good time to build your team up. Also, if you're looking to try and become competitive, look for guys with good defense (preferably OD) but also good in other skills (obviously). They key to beating teams IMO is defense.

Also, search the Transfer list for 18 yr olds with at least 7 POT. You are going to have to do some training if you want to be competitive, and younger players train faster. POT has no effect on training speed, but the lower it is the sooner they will cap. Whether you are going to train big men or guards is really up to you. I train big men, but that's just me. Here are some examples of good trainees:

Big Man (22678717): Good primary skills, OD is bad but you can always train that, POT one below what i said but this is just an example, tall so big man skills will train well
Guard (23675551): Good primaries and secondaries to start out with, short so guard skills will train well, Good POT

Since the season is over these guys will soon be 19, and are a bit behind, but training either an 18 or 19 year old is fine. If you want to wait to get a 18 year old fresh, use your scouting points wisely for you are going to probably get the 1st or 2nd pick. Or save your money and serach the TL at the beginning of next season.

If anything here or anywhere else confuses you, please ask me. I don't know what website you came from, so I'm not sure how much you actually know. Good luck :)

Welcome. If you do drop, you'll be back up quickly to this level. Arena pricing is important and difficult because of the delay in implementation. Pay attention to sales and prices. I came during the beta of this game from Hattrick where it is more of a selling trainees game. This is more difficult than that and there are more approaches. It's still new enough that I'm not sure if there is a conventional wisdom. Good luck.
