I know your first impressions of me are things like "this guy thinks he knows it all" and stuff like that about me, but i created this thread to ask if anyone of the 'big boys' would be willing to help me out and give me some advice/tips for my own team. I am going to be a little stubborn and say that i dont really want to get rid of any players on my team at the moment (but would add anyone if nessecary). I would just like to see what you guys would do if you had to work with these players...
Also i believe this thread would help me out in using the forum more often as its something im not used too

for someone who keeps on saying they don't use the forums often, you sure do post a lot.

Just come to the chat channels when the games are on, and you can ask as many questions as you want, pretty sure people who are online will help you out.

First lets make some assumptions.

1) You want to promote.

2) You want to train.

3) You want to make some money.

These seem to be contradictory aims but I think they they are not. Training helps you win and winning makes you money. So to me it all begins with training.

League IV.18

Last season you started half way through the season, no idea what you did but you lost a lot and havent expanded your arena at all. Disaster!

Crabby Men dominated last season but are promoted, GoatRiders also are in division III now.

R-Square 18-4 are around but look very weak.
Team CSC 19-3 also have a pathetic roster.
But relegated demon soul look very strong.

There are only 7 human teams in your league so you can act accordingly.

I may as well go through them all. This is just looking at their current roster, it is your job to do a more thorough scouting.

Big 8
Ulvie Stars 18 players 1 good. Easy
Flayling Fannypax 11 guys and something about them to me smells of competence. Danger?
Team CSC somehow went 19-3 with their top player being an old 8k guy.

Great 8
demon soul = danger! Been around since season 13 and have an incredible roster for a division IV team. $38,000 C, $19,000 SG, $19,000 SF etc. They will be very tough.
The BuzzerBeater Team (you) look pathetic but have lots of potential Aussie trainees.
R-square also look easy.
Beefys Pies have half their roster up for sale so you should note down their players in case some don't sell. Also read my bbmail on this issue but we cannot discuss this on the forums.

So it looks to me like you should be easily able to win 16-20 games with no effort at all. But if you want to have a good chance to promote you must go 20-2 (2 losses to Demon Soul) or to be certain to promote you need to beat Demon Soul.

More coming

Your team.

11 players is reasonable but can be tight in the cup to keep good game shape.

Team Evaluation

Good players:
Gerald Ullman 12k SG 20 starter. Solid. The only solid player.

Potential Trainees:
Almost everyone. The good thing is if there are mess ups with training whoever gets minutes can use them.
Ed Brar 6k 19 allstar 6'0" SG
Sebastian Hijano 3k 19 MVP 6'1" SF
Graig Astle 5k 19 superstar 7'3" C
Whitney Rambuka 5k 20 superstar 6'7" SF

These guys are totally unsuitable as a training group. You spent $105,000 on Graig who I think you said was to be your focus and then later spent $150,000 on Ed whose only redeeming feature is his training potential. How will these two guys train together?

Next step is for you. Who is your focus? Name one player. But one of Ed and Graig must be sold.

It would also be useful to know hom much money you have so I can suggest some trainees for you.

First thing thank you so much for the help. I truly appreciate it and it's way more than I ever expected! :)
I would just like to explain some of those purchases;
- Rambuka is a created player that I was given
- Gerald Ulman I bought because I wanted someone decent who could score and get me started
- Next was Astle who I intended to be my focus. As he had good height and decent primary skills. However his secondaries and tertiaries are pretty atrocious
- Brar at first was just a player who could play well for me at pg and sg if I needed him to cover in that position. He is a better all round bball player than Astle by some bit.
Now I am not really sure who to focus on. I have got two players at 6ftand 6.1ft, rambuka who is nice all round player and then the big c?
At the moment I have 100k

One 7ft centre caught my eye but I'm not sure if he is a good move to make for my final 12th player. 25k with MVP potential, Aussie 19 year old. What do you think??

I think you're a young team and shouldn't blow all your startup money on players. There's an arena that hasn't been touched and needs to be upgraded too ;)
