Hard week of practice at the Air Canada Center, we scrimmaged the Raptors for the rights to practice here and needless to say Bargnani and crew will be practicing at 24 Hour Fitness this week. We are preparing to face defending Worlds champion #1 Chile in a match to decide who will be the winner of Group B.

Rambo and I tried to film Chile's practices, but Chile's manager Blockman saw us hiding in the bleachers and sent Tapia to get us, didn't really matter because we forgot to take the lens off anyway. SpF is sober now, so hopefully he can make a good press release to cover for us.

NT Post Game Report: Chile 3/7

Glendon Arena was the site as two teams with undefeated records battled it out to become the number one seed of Group B. Team USA anxious for the game to start paced themselves as defending world champions Chile entered the arena. Excitement filled the stands as fans were going crazy to see some high octane basketball action! The United States kept with the look inside offense and were matched tactics by Chile who also played a look inside. Defensively the US used a 2-3 while Chile stuck with their Man D. The US had won the tip and 16 seconds in scored the first bucket of the game compliments of Wills Lundy. However at the end of the first the US was down 3. "Never out of it" were the words of Irwin Velasco at halftime as the USA NT headed back to the locker room down 5. The second was a different story for the US defensively giving up 23 and 27 respectively in the third and fourth quarters and only managing to score 16 and 10 in response. Most of the US players didn't put up their normal numbers but a constant was the play of Jairo Alejandro Renteria with a team high 20 points and 17 boards. Chile's star Ulf Gornitz also had a huge game with over 30 points and seemed to be the focal point of their offense with all others on the Chile NT contributing their pieces. Once the smoke cleared the Chile NT was left standing and the seeds for the second round had finally been decided. The US had lost by the final score of 86-57.

Most players refused to do interviews as they were dissapointed in the loss in fact reports are coming in of another "Cry-Gate" scandal but these are not confirmed.

Coach Jfarb001 however was able to give a statement before the team left the arena.
"Well that sucked. Everyone on the team is out of game shape, I guess I shouldn't have fed them that Taco Bell all week, but we are on a limited budget. Chile was ready to go and they made a statement today. The defense was there, but our offense was pathetic. This was an embarrassment, and the fault rests entirely on my shoulders. Now all we can do is forget about it, and focus on Round 2 of the Americas tournament. Next week we have another big opponent in Brazil, and we will be ready...I don't even know who to yell at right now."

The USA has hit a speed bump in this Americas tournament but are going to continue to fight and it starts next Monday as the NT battles Brazil in their first matchup of the second round! Show your support and come watch the game!
