Haha well I'll debate myself if I have to.
Well you know better than anyone that to win the Worlds there is a certain amount of luck necessary. That being said, Chile has a very good team and were well managed. Talent-wise overall I'd say we are about equal to them. They are ahead of us as far as bigs, they have David Tapia, as well as Gornitz, Baciagulpo and others. Guards wise I say we are ahead of them. Their inside ability led other teams to 2-3 zone them, which as you can see in the final vs France, they took full advantage of by changing it up and going Motion. They did a good job mixing it up offensively, using RnG and LI often in the Worlds. They have put up some monstrous inside scoring ratings, marvelous(low) type stuff. BTW both teams 2-3 zoned that final game...ugh, if France goes M2M result might have been different.
Chile beat us in the Worlds having and using more effort. They had an advantage from the get go since they qualified directly and we had to go thru repechage. We were unfortunate to be caught off guard by Peru in Season 13.
To me Argentina is just as much of a threat to us, we lost to them in the Americas tournament on equal effort. They also have good bigs in Fassi, Richter, and Werribee.
I think with a little luck, if we can avoid an upset like what happened vs Peru in Season 13 we can qualify directly for the Worlds and maybe bring home the Americas trophy. Problem is that sometimes teams CT us for no logical reason.
