I wonder how far they'll drop in the polls (Duke that is...)

The prevailing hope around the state of Tennessee right now is that they'll drop just enough that Memphis will be #1 and Tennessee will be #2.

They don't believe Kansas exists around here.

Wake looked really good last night.

And since my favorite team in college basketball is whoever is playing Duke, I was cheering for WFU

After what Duke did to my Badgers earlier in the year, I too was happy with the way the game turned out last night. I'm glad your boys could get it done WFU03.

Looks like Duke won't be falling very far in the polls. ESPN/USA Today has them at 4th with Memphis and Tennessee poised to have a #1 and #2 in-state showdown.

The AP poll puts Duke in 5th, but both polls have set up the UT-Memphis game as a #1 vs #2 showdown.

Should be exciting to see how both teams fare (particularly Memphis, who most people think haven't played any real competition at this point).

memphis definitely has not played enough real competition, but if they beat tennessee they won't get everyone on the bandwagon but they will shut up a few critics. can't wait to see this game.

The one thing Memphis has going for them is that they get to play at home.

The other thing Memphis has going for them is that the rest of their schedule is a cakewalk:

2/27 Tulsa
3/01 @ Southern Miss
3/05 @ SMU
3/08 UAB

Tennessee, however, has some competition:

2/26 @ #16 Vanderbilt
3/02 Kentucky
3/05 @ Florida
3/09 S. Carolina

Edit: It should be mentioned, of course, that if UT loses to Auburn or Memphis gets beaten by Tulane tomorrow, the chances of Saturday's game being a #1 vs #2 matchup is pretty damn slim.

technically they will still be #1 and #2 since the polls don't update until the middle of Sunday and the beginning of Monday. so no matter what it will be a 1 v. 2. but if they both lose then obviously the interest will decline. but i'm pretty sure they can pull it out.
