First, I want to apologize for slacking with the game updates here. Work has taken over my life a bit, and cut into my BB time this month. For those that are interested and have been missing the updates, please join the off-site, as we've kept a pretty good discussion going over there.
For those that haven't been following, our season 13 campaign came to an end last night. We went into the night sitting in 4th place after losing a close game to Argentina and getting CT'd by Peru a few weeks prior. The top 2 would make the semi's, 3rd would make the repechage, and 4th would go to the consolation tournament. We decided to normal rather than CT in the hopes that it would be enough, while leaving us with some enthusiasm for the semi-finals were we lucky enough to get into 2nd place.
Our 29 pt win over Venezuela was enough to pass Peru (who lost to Argentina and finished 4th--karma for their CT of us, I'd say), but Mexico (who had HCA all season) pulled out a big win of their own vs Panama and managed to take 2nd, finishing ~10pts ahead of us. So, our 3rd place finish places us into the repechage next season, with 3 games to advance to worlds. It's not ideal, but given the circumstances and the very real possibility of finishing 4th, we'll take it.
Now we have a few weeks until the repe starts to update our scouting lists, figure out what worked and what didn't, try yet again to find a SF, and hope we don't draw Spain (who also finished 3rd in their group and is on their way to the repe).
