Every season, most of the teams end up playing the same teams over and over again. How about changing this a bit?
How about scrammbling all teams in a Division at the start of a new season. Or maybe once every 4 seasons?

Before setting an example, I'ld like to mention I've been playing for 2 seasons now, and I'm not yet bored with my fellow managers yet.
Example from my own III.6 league:
BIG8 teams have World Rank between 11000 and 23000
GREAT8 teams have World Rank between 5000 and 55000

BIG8 teams will stay, GREAT8 teams will relegate and promote. If we get very lucky, the BIG8 team will promote (as they did last season). Otherwise BIG8 stays the same except for the no.8, who will be replaced by someone ranked around 20000 and won't upset the league. If we get really lucky, the no.1 will be promoted because of managers quitting in the higher div. But mostly, things stay the same....

As far as I can tell, this has been going on for a couple of seasons now. I can imagine mamagers getting bored and leaving BB.

I get where you're coming from. IMO, the conferences should be scrambled every season randomly.

As far as scrambling the entire division, I get your point. I think the BBs wanted to create a level of "rivalry" and in that sense it's nice so I would honestly keep it the way it is just have the conferences mixed up.

:D

Holy crap.

It must suck to be 8-9 and on the verge of auto-relegating, when a 5-12 team in the other conference is on its way to the playoffs.

I started this post, because I think it would be fun to re-mix the teams in a league into different Big-8/Great-8 sets. I do not see many people agreeing with this. This thread has been pretty quiet.

I do note several things, now that I have thought a bit more about it and seen your reactions:

1: There are leagues which are much worse off then my own league.
2: If we were to involve some sort of random process to mix teams up, the result would probably be worse. I think a random process would yield more leagues with bad team alignment. The normal process automatically will re-align itself, although it will take several seasons to do that.
3: If you're in a strong Big/Great-8, there's more challenge to get to the top and eventually you will get there.

4: The process for mixing should probably go like this:

a: Order the list of teams in a league in the same manner as for the draft
b: Team 1 from this list goes to Big-8
c: Team 2 and 3 go to Great-8
d: Team 4 and 5 go to Big-8
e: Team 6 and 7 go to Great-8
etc.

This should not be very hard to implement. And it will re-align the strong and weak teams more evenly in just 1 season.
