Can anyone tell me whether the below skill assessment is off. This seems to work, but I'm still early in. Would love to hear your experience. I have been running a Motion, 2-3 Zone.

Point Guard
Primary Skills: Passing, Outside Defense, Handling
Secondary Skills: Jump Shot, Jump Range, Driving
Tertiary Skills: Rebounding

Shooting Guard
Primary Skills: Jump Shot, Jump Range, Outside Defense
Secondary Skills: Handling, Passing, Driving
Tertiary Skills: Rebounding

Small Forward
Primary Skills: Jump Shot, Inside Shot, Outside Defense, Inside Defense
Secondary Skills: Jump Range, Driving, Handling, Passing
Tertiary Skills: Rebounding, Blocking

Power Forward
Primary Skills: Inside Shot, Inside Defense, Jump Shot
Secondary Skills: Rebounding, Driving, Blocking, Passing
Tertiary Skills: Jump Range

Center
Primary Skills: Rebounding, Inside Defense, Inside Shot
Secondary Skills: Blocking, Jump Shot, Passing
Tertiary Skills: Jump Range, Driving

Outside Defense is Secondary for Power Forwards, Rebounding is Primary. Rebounding is Secondary Skill for Small Forwards and Inside Shot too.

Thanks for your thoughts! I had trouble with making skills like rebounding primary for SF because you can only train C/PF or the entire team. Therefore if I wanted a good rebounder at SF; I would have to play them at PF or C, train them with everyone else on the team, or buy someone that already had the skill developed. If that really was primary then wouldn't the game allow for training within the position? That's the problem I had with several of the other skill assessments within the forum as well. That's my thinking, what do you think?

What skills are important and what skills are easily trained are not the same thing. To effectively train a high level SF you will need to do a lot of one position training at PG, C and SG, anyway.

I would disagree a bit with your skill rankings but I think you're overall on the right track.


Also stop playing 2-3 zone. It's useless and broken.
