Not really complaining because this lose was a PL match that doesn't really count, but kind of wondering why I was out rebounded 62-42 (20-7 offensive rebounds) when I had a slightly higher rebounding rating: (2175886)

What other factors effect rebounding? We were both playing the same defensive scheme...I guess he took a lot more outside shots...does that yield a greater percentage or offensive rebounds (ie. long rebounds)?

Seems odd that you could have a -20 rebounding margin just through random factors.

sorry Steve havent got an answer... just another RB question... from someone that doesnt watch basketball (only snippets now I play this..) how is it possible for so many players to jack up their own shot and retrieve the ball via a rebound from their own missed shot...

I seem to read alot on the game engine... Player A shoots from X .... shot missed.... Player A cleans the glass.... surely out of the 10 players on court he would not be anywhere near favourite to win this? (i can only think of an occasion where it hits the rim square on and comes straight back at him... and even then its 50/50 with his marker)

Its pretty common for a guy to miss a shot (especially if its around the basket) and grab his own rebound. In fact, that why a good coach will always tell you to "follow your shot".

I've notice that it happens with 3 point shots a lot too....I guess its just long rebounds.

It is a bit strange, last match my SF shot a 3, missed, then slammed home his own rebound - legend.

I think most of the time though the ball could be tipped out & back to the shooter, as they are the player that grabbed the ball they get the rebound stat.
