I believe we did - or can a level 12 enthusiasm drop to 5 after one "Crunch Time" game?

No we don't - everything is fine with enthusiasm.
Drop from 12 to 5 is possible - 12 / 2 (CT) = 6 and one day later it could be 5.
Or you could have not 12 but 11, and that's why - 11 / 2 (CT) = 5
