How does a player gain experience? Does he gain more from cup games than league games, and does he gain anything extra for playing in a national team?

Every minute played in a game gains experience. (Private leagues excluded). More experience is gained from playing in a National Team. More experience than league games are gained in Cup games (but not as much experience as national team games).

Experience is very slow to pop up. I would expect a season and a half for a popup to occur if the player played as a starter every game.

I don't believe the allstar game counts towards experience. Different rookies start on different values of experience.

Are you sure about this? I would think that they would all start with atrocious experience and the lowest possible sublevel

I don't know whether different players get experience at different rates. However a rookie doesn't have to start on atrocious experience, they can start on higher experience (eg. Pitiful).

No.
The only reason a player with higher potential would get more experience is because they could be trained to have higher skills, which means they will play at a national level, and so will get experience from national games.

Thanks for all the answers, but one more question...Does a player get more experience for playing in a NT match, than playing in a U21 match?
