with how the coaching works, your starters generally eat up most of the minutes , in close games especially.
i'm curious about the opinions on how important a good bench is? is it not important in weak leagues but more important in stronger leagues? is it important in any league? or is it not that important at all??

Well on very competitive leagues is important for game shape reasons, and foul troubles. The other alternative is to train GS, but then you are sacrifice your long term future for the short term...

I would say a strong bench takes on a more important role for teams whose starters have low stamina as they can not be as effective for long periods of playing time on the court.

I play in division 4 =/ I know.. but.. I sold my whole bench or just everyone that is good and my team fell hard. I don't suggest it, but if you need money ... do it.

I'm in division II and a huge part of me being a regular top 4 team is because of my bench. My SG has a habit of picking up 2 early fouls quite often, so his backup usually can see around 15-20 mins per game. Lately my PF has been doing the same..... and of course the injury bug can call on these guys too. I usually have an 8 man rotation, so i have a big guy who can spell both the PF and C, a guy who fills in at PG and SG and a backup SF.

It´s pretty important, period. If your bench could outplay opponents, you´ll get about 10-12 minutes per game with advantadge
Also, in season 10 I had a backup selected to the all-star game, so the bench can have major impact.
