This isn't anywhere in the game manual that I can find, so I have to ask:

What is the story with the defensive options at the bottom of the Tactics screen, the one that says

"I want my ___ to play defense as ________"

Other than the plain meaning of the above, what effects does this have on training?

I'd ask more questions, but I don't even have enough information to get that far.

i will talk with example ... you play 2-3 ... but your SF has better OD than ID ... and your SG has ID beter than OD ... you type "i want my SG to play defence as SF" and SF as SG ...

it doesnt affect training, only playing a position on offense affects training.

So if you have a center who plays defense as a PF then he will still get his training minutes for Center.

Thanks for the answers, fellas. That's what I needed to know.

Can anyone point me to where this explained in the rules, or in a bulletin. I'm sure others who have new teams would like to read about this, too.

Handling is easier to train for big men as you can do one on one training for Forwards and don't have to play him out of position. Passing is a bit harder because you can only do it for PG, PG/SG or team, which means may have to play him out of position.

like the person above me said. i forgot your name...

You can train handeling with one on one for forwards, so you can keep your PF playing as a PF while your training handeling

Passing on the other hand, i suggest that you play your PF as a PG in a scrimmage. Make suyre he gets 48 minutes and train him 1 position PG training.

Okay, this has now scrolled off the News page and is no longer accessible.

Yet another item that needs to be in the manual and is not.

So I'll ask these questions that might have been explained there:

The example is for defense training. If you choose to train ID, playing a player at PG on offense and C on defense would train him on ID.

Pressure and shot blocking should work the same way. Do they?

Conversely, IS, JS Outside shooting, passing, ball handling and passing should give training to the offensive position. One-on-one should be the offensive position, too, even though it does increase defensive skills a little.

But what about rebounding? Players need to rebound on both ends of the court? If you are training the C position for rebounding, does it go to the offensive player or the defensive player at the spot?

I would appreciate an answer from someone who knows rather than speculation about what should happen.
