Pilipinas sinks Singapore, 126-84

Pilipinas made a loud statement in their matchup against Singapore, overwhelming them with a commanding 126–84 victory. From start to finish, the squad displayed a perfect mix of offense, defense, and teamwork that left no doubt about their strength.

Fortunato Arcega led the charge 16pts & 11rebs, while Melecio Sidad added 16pts & 6asts. Jerome Maluenda chipped in 15pts & 6rebs as the scoring depth of Pilipinas shone through — with 9 different players putting up double-digit points.

Hutch Ordoves orchestrated the offense brilliantly, tallying 11asts alongside 10pts, while Dave Lemoncito controlled the glass with 12rebs. Overall, Pilipinas completely dictated the game, holding a 52–23 edge in rebounds and 32–20 in assists, highlighting their chemistry and ball movement.

Next week, big game na naman against powerhouse Taiwan. Kakakuha lang nila ng unang panalo nila sa 2nd round against Malaysia. Ang unang dalawang laro nila ay parehong talo laban sa Australia at Lebanon. They will be eager to get another W kaya sana ay maganda pa rin ang GS natin pagkatapos ng biyernes.

Maraming salamat sa lahat nang patuloy na sumusuporta. Laban Pilipinas!

Congrats on Lebanon's 3-0 second round so far. Big win against Taiwan and Australia but Lebanon has been phenomenal in the last 2 Asia Championship, so it's not surprising the team is competitive. This is Lebanon's Golden Generation.

Next week's win should secure your team's place in the semis. I believe your first-round losses against HK and Pakistan were more of a product of you trying to get to know the team.

We look forward to our match up in two weeks.

Cheers!

Taiwan Stages Second-Half Comeback to Defeat Pilipinas, 85-80

Taiwan pulled off a gritty second-half rally to edge Pilipinas, 85-80, in a tightly contested matchup that went down to the final quarter.

Pilipinas came out strong, seizing a 21-18 lead after the first quarter and maintaining control at halftime with a 39-28 advantage. Their defense limited Taiwan’s rhythm early, while balanced scoring kept them in front.

However, the tide shifted after the break. Taiwan surged in the third quarter, outscoring Pilipinas 23-13 to seize momentum and head into the final frame trailing only by 1. Despite Pilipinas’ late push, including a 28-point fourth quarter, Taiwan matched their intensity and sealed the win behind a high-powered offensive finish.

Pilipinas’ backcourt led the charge, with Jiffrey Sumalapao putting up 19pts, 5rebs & 5asts, while Benson Villarivera added 20pts & 5rebs. Melecio Sidad contributed 15pts & 6rebs, while bigman tandem Dave Lemoncito and Fortunato Arcega combined for 25rebs & 6asts.

Next week will be the last game before the semifinals. We will be playing against the undefeated Lebanon team looking to complete the round sweep. We can still top Pool D if we manage to beat them next week.

Muli kong inaasahan ang magandang GS sa lahat ng ating players sa susunod na linggo.

Maraming salamat sa lahat nang patuloy na sumusuporta. Laban Pilipinas!

2nd half surge from Pilipinas breaks the halftime deadlock, 77-57
Calbayog City, Attendance: 24,683

Playing with more effort, the Philippines delivered a commanding second-half performance to claim a 77–57 victory over Lebanon, overcoming a sluggish start with relentless defense and balanced scoring.

After a tight first half that ended 28–28, the Filipinos exploded for 49 points in the final two quarters, suffocating Lebanon with defensive intensity. The Philippines outscored their opponents 49–29 in the second half, pulling away for a decisive 20-point win in front of a raucous Calbayog City crowd.

Every Filipino player who saw minutes contributed to the win, with eight players scoring at least four points. Coach’s emphasis on hustle and rebounding paid off as the team’s energy level noticeably surpassed Lebanon’s in the final stretch.

Sa biyernes, after the training update, we will be facing China sa Semifinals ng Asia Championship. It will be played in a neutral arena kahit na tayo ang nakalagay na homecourt. I know most teams are already on vacation pero sana ay maganda pa rin ang GS ng ating mga bata.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng patuloy na sumusuporta. Laban Pilipinas!

China Outguns Pilipinas 95–80 to Advance to the Finals
Manila, Attendance: 23,959

The game was tight early, with China leading 16–12 after the 1st quarter but China’s offense exploded in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Philippines 29–20 to seize control before halftime. Pilipinas managed to claw back with a 26-19 3rd quarter before faltering in the 4th quarter and letting the game slip.

With the China win, they moves on to the gold medal game to face Hong Kong who defeated Lebanon 96-70. Meanwhile, we will have another chance to reach the World Championships through the World Championships Qualifier on Monday, facing Colombia in Hong Kong (6pm Manila Time).

Natalo man tayo kahapon, mag-uuwi naman tayo ng Bronze medal. This is our first medal since finishing with a bronze too in Australia noong season 57, first season ko at the helm (13th season ko na ngayon).

Maraming salamat sa lahat nang patuloy na sumusuporta sa ating NT.

Laban Pilipinas!

Philippines Crush Colombia 109–85 in World Championship Qualifier Win
Manila, Attendance: 23,925

The Philippines put on an offensive masterclass, dismantling Colombia 109–85 in a World Championship Qualifier before 23,925 fans. Behind a sizzling shooting night and unselfish ball movement, the Filipinos cruised to victory to advance to the World Championship next season. Our first time since Season 46 (Big shoutout to Boss Jeorge(190144)).

The Philippines exploded out of the gate with a 30–18 first-quarter blitz and never looked back. Colombia made attempts to close the gap in the 2nd half but our boys kept their cool and ensured the W.

With this win, makakaapak tayong muli sa World Championship na gaganapin sa hindi pa yata inannounce. Last time we were there season 46 pa. Si Boss Jeorge ang nagbitbit sa atin doon through a silver medal from season 45's Asia Championship.

Season recap tayo in a few days. Sa ngayon, pasasalamat sa lahat nang patuloy na sumusuporta sa ating koponan.

Laban Pilipinas!

Pilipinas bags Bronze in Asia Championship at home, to return to the World Championship after 24 seasons

One of our better seasons, our second consecutive attempt at a medal at home finally paid off. Season 69 ends with us claiming a bronze medal and securing a World Championship appearance for Season 70 after defeating Colombia.

Our road to bronze this season was quite intense. We won our first-round game against Korea but lost to Australia at home. We wanted to win that game but luck wasn't on our side. After that, we also lost to Macau in the next game. Surprising how good they are this season pero expect na natin yan moving forward. Wins against New Zealand and Thailand got us back on track before a nail-biting loss to Iran in the final game of the first round.

The second round was a different story. Finishing 4th in Pool A with a 3-3 record, we were grouped with Australia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Singapore in the second round. We finished with a 4-1 record, only losing to Taiwan. Lebanon had the same 4-1 record but only lost to us. We secured 1st place in Pool D, thanks to point differential. Both teams advanced to the semifinals, with Lebanon facing Hong Kong and us going up against China. Hong Kong and China went on to the Finals, with China dethroning Hong Kong in Asia. We and Lebanon secured bronze and World Championship Qualifiers (WCQ) spots.

In the WCQ, we were matched against Colombia. The game was held in Hong Kong, and we won dominantly, a sweet revenge for our WCQ loss to them in Season 65.

This season, we want to give a shoutout to Valley Boys (54537) and Fortunato Arcega (54537) for tying the 3rd most rebounds in a game with 24 (80540), against the mighty Australian team pa. He also managed to nab 175rebs in season 69, surpassing his previous record of 169 in season 67. Good for 3rd most in a season. Another record for Arcega ay 3rd player in PH Senior NT to reach 1,000 rebounds, he currently sits at 1,071 trailing Pete Enrique Libron's 1,348 (47741017) and Andrew Solima's 1,170 (8210746). He also moved up the All-Time Assists Leaders with 344, good for #8, surpassing Manuel Caritat (39709783) and Kidlat Celebria (45306505).

Shoutout din kay BC Tambo (54854) at Hutch Ordoves (54854) for dishing out the 3rd most assists in a game with 14 against Iran (80553), tying Eugene Putong's record.

Big shoutout din kay Manila Bombers (54357) and Jiffrey Sumalapao (49341426) for moving up the 2nd place the most performances for the NT with 144 trailing Leorio Lovino's 172 (47428727). He is also 2nd in All-Time Points with 2,167, trailing Lovino again with 2,340. Sa All-Time Assists naman ay 3rd siya with 583, behind Lyndon de la Peña's 698 (23042001) and Lovino's 624. At 36, It remains to be seen if he still has anything left in the tank to play for the NT this season.

Lastly, shoutout kay Jeorgians (190144) in keeping Alan Adrian Marquese (48677099) in tip-top shape. He to 6th All-Time in games played for the NT with 122. He is 37 now kaya malaki ang chance na mag-retire na siya sa NT natin to give chance sa iba.

This season, target natin to win as much as we can. Magiging competitive tayo to reach as far as we can. Ibibigay natin ang lahat.

Maraming salamat at Laban Pilipinas!

Philippines Falls to Hot-Shooting Israel, 132–116

The Philippines fought hard but couldn’t keep up with Israel’s offensive firepower, falling 132–116 in a high-scoring National Team Round Robin clash at Touhidul Arena.

Israel’s uptempo “Run and Gun” attack was on full display, converting 52.5% of their shots and knocking down 14 of 30 triples at an impressive 46.7% clip.

Benson Villarivera paced the Philippines with 34pts on an efficient 16-of-21 shooting with 8rebs, while Ericson Regidor added 31pts, 5rebs and 6asts. Despite their efforts, the Filipinos struggled from long range, connecting on just 4 of 18 3-pt attempts.

The loss drops the Philippines to 0–1 in the World Cup - Pool B, while Israel showcased why they’re the champions of Europe and one of the best teams in the competition. The Filipinos will aim to regroup and bounce back stronger in their next matchup against World#15 Serbia.
