In a Position of Transition

With Manager DJ Kieller’s first taste of League II under his belt, his team looks to build off of their relegation series win from Season 35. The goal heading into this new season will be the same as the one before – keep your head above water. But the pieces might look a little different.

“A lot of our guys are in the prime of their career, which is great for us,” Kieller commented. “The issue though is a lot of our guys are in the prime of their career. They will all begin their steady decline at the same time, and if we don’t address that reality sooner rather than later, we’ll need to do a complete overhaul of our team about 3-5 seasons from now.”

“We want to draw the process out. The downside is that we may not be relevant in League II for a handful of seasons because of it. Heck, we may even get demoted before all is said and done. But if we can spread out the roster changes over the years to come, I think we can still have a formidable team as we re-tool."

Don’t be surprised if some of these changes happen right away.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if, by the end of this upcoming season, the majority of our starting core from season 35 will be anchoring other teams.”
