'Dream season launches Chumunga to ABBL'

The 12th May 2012 will go down as a famous day in the history of the Chumunga Watermelons after breaking out of II.2 with a gutsy game 2 win against High School Dropouts on the road.

This brought to an end chumunga's 8 season streak in II.2 (was the longest standing team in the division without great success to be honest but consistent none the less) and vaults the team into the pinnacle of BB in Australia the ABBL.

This road has been about 3 seasons in the making after a total rethink with much luck, advice from other users (thanks, you know who you are) and what I would like to think was good management along the way. Other highlights included a quarter final run in the cup this season.

I look especially forward to the abbl journey with other promotees Melb Goldfish (team I used to mentor back in the day but look at him now!), the Chelsea Seagulls on their return to the top flight (and a previous league nemesis of mine from when I first hit div2) and fingers crossed Crockers if they can fight the odds and win game 3.

Let the journey begin...

Thanks fishy, can't wait to play against you again man. Been 10 seasons since the good old days in div3 and you sure have proven yourself since then!
