New PUP Campus in North Caloocan threatens Stand-bys' roster

A new campus from state-run Polytechnic University of the Philippines will be opening in North Caloocan.

Mayor Dale Malapitan led the groundbreaking ceremony in Deparo.

Stand-bys fans feared that players might quit the roster to pursue higher education.

"Mauubos ang mga istambay dahil sa edukasyon! (All of the stand-bys will be gone because of education!)", a local citizen groaned at the groundbreaking ceremony

However, high salary rates from the Stand-bys might prove otherwise.

"We support the local stand-bys for their jobless and uneducated nature and we love them to do nothing other than basketball", GM Uiyu said. "We will show the local community that being jobless is a dream come true."

The Stand-bys are currently paying at least USD 2,000 per week for the bench warmer position. A great contrast to USD 187 per month of minimum wage in the country.

Essentially, Stand-bys players were not jobless at all.

"We want to employ those who know nothing other than basketball.", GM Uiyu remarked. "We cannot employ all stand-bys in Caloocan, more so in the country. But we can always dream."
