Our first game was an interesting setup vs Kazakhstan. It was nice to see some game winning performances from our starters!

3 votes- Stubbs. 32pts, 4 boards, 3 blocks. 70% FG. His man went for 43 pts, but it was a patient, and he was fouled off before he could hurt us too bad.
2 votes- Tan and his 29 points.
1 vote- Soragna. 19 boards.

Great start, looking forward to seeing more of this team play!

Aus defeat India 130-80

After a slow start, the team has annihilated their opponents to win by 50pts. 8 players finished the game above 50% FG shooting.

Apologies for my 3 week hiatus in this thread, i went on a holiday and had such a good time, i forgot to catch up on my reports.

Aus u21 defeat Pakistan 126-46

Scoreline to be expected, although them normalling us was not. Duncan, Quek and Yuanbo dismantled their attack and caused them matchup problems all night shooting aroundd 70% FG. Blake had a cruisy night and did what he wanted, while Tan put on a pakistan singlet and helped the other team by shooting 2-13FG. The 2 that went in were banked off the backboard by mistake. Erxuan sat in the stands and ate Beef Brisket rolls for $8 each. They were so tasty, he went back for dirty 3rds. This, little did he realise, would be his downfall over the next fortnight as he would struggle to regain any fitness. A moment on the lips, and a lifetime on the hips.

2 votes- Duncan- 24pts, 5 boards, 4 assists.
1 vote- Yuanbo. 8-13 FG for 18pts including 2-2 3FG, 7 assists and 3 steals and 2 boards would be an MVP statline in any other game.

All 3 of these guys deserve top votes, Queks appears most outstanding in my eyes due to efficiency. All 3 defended superbly holding their man to 25% FG or less.

After playing this team in a series of friendlies in the off-season, i felt i knew this guy's strengths and intentions against us coming into this match. Somewhere along the way I was off and the GDP inside was outplayed by the Japanese manager. Detterbeck came through with his game of the season, putting our team on his back and carrying us over the line. Erxuan was called into the lineup in a strategic plan from the coach- get him out of the stands and away from the brisket. The plan had merit, but the team did not see Erxuan post match slip off a screen to the kiosk where he got his 6th block of the night- blocking team Australia of good game shape!

Thailand defeat Aus 112-81

With a top 4 position wrapped up, a few of the team developed a FOMB (Fear of missing Brisket) from watching Erxuans gameday behaviour. Dey started to put on unexplained weight, Tan and Sorogna played but in questionable shape, Erxuan himself was no where to be seen at training or shootaround, and the the smell of sweet sweet beef wafted through the stadium. Even assistant coaches disappeared from the offsite forums in what was becoming a real trend with the Australian team. What followed was an absolute belting from the Thai team, dominating the Australians in an outstanding shooting display. What was evident from this Thai game was the coach of the Thai team was getting everything out of his players- they were getting every bit of excellence out of what thee players were capable of. Erxuan himself noticed this from the grandstands as he knocked down his 5th shot of the night- a spiced rum to help wash down his half dozen brisket and white bread rolls, coated in thick, flavoursome, salty gravy. "They looked sharp", Erxuan said. "Really really direct and you could tell they were hot all night. Thats why i ate them. The Thai team looked good also."

The slump frustrated the Aus coach and he was caught mumbling as he left to the locker room " That's it. It's Dinh time!"

That was one of the best performances in a loss I've seen in a while from Quek, against a really good opponent too.

Congrats to our assistant coach, Deano25 of the Heywood Big dogs. Great to have a local manager so involved in our NTs and producing multiple u21 trainees for our nation. Id love to see more local teams committing to our local aussie talent!

Another really solid season by you, Whitey. Thanks heaps for all of the assistance in developing my list and all you do in promoting the National programs.
Nice consistent season by Slam given his slow start through shitty game shape in the first few rounds. I really have to get my roster off the cans in the off season.
Onwards and upwards in 51!
