Hi. I am Giuseppe the new Sweden U21 coach. In the next couple of days I will make selection and wrote my thoughts about U21 team. Feel free to ask any questions or write anything regarding U21.

After viewing 270 players, selection has been done. 15 players are in U21. Few more are close and if necessary I will fill last 3 spots. Team is solid but not balanced enough. Players are more outside or inside oriented, defense or offense. Next generation has less quality players. This is all to be expected in smaller countries. In order to bring some consistency and more balance, I will write minimum requirements for U21. For some players like the one with high potential (MVP+), I will be sending messages about training or offering my help to divert them more to NT demands. Considering I do not speak Swedish,do not know if there is already such a thread, I will wrote it here. This is just a proposition and you do not have to train like that but the more people do the better and balanced team will be.
Season begins next week. It is going to be hard to win games but I am looking forward to watch them every Monday. Have fun.

Sounds good, it’s not easy getting wins with such a small talent pool but on the other hand, every win is a success.
We usually have a little better senior NT but even there it’s harder now to have top players.

U21 Demands

PG - Driving 12, Outside Defense 11, Passing 9, Inside Defense 4,Jump shot 11/range 7 or Inside shot 6
SG - Driving 12, Outside Defense 11, Passing 8, Inside Defense 4,Jump shot 11/range 8 or Inside shot 7
SF - Driving 11, Outside Defense 9, Inside Defense 8, Passing 5, Rebounding 5, Jump shot 10/range 5 or Inside shot 10
PF - Driving 9, Outside Defense 6, Passing 4, Jump shot 7/range 4, Inside Defense/Rebounding/Inside shot 11
C - Driving 8, Outside Defense 3, Passing 3, Jump shot 3/range 2, Inside Defense/Rebounding/Inside shot 11

Training (for 18-20y) - Start with 1on1 for SF/PF position (until desired skill for driving(1 less than demands)), then Outside Defense, Inside Defense and finish with Passing, Rebounding, Inside shot/Jump shot/Jump range
