ah going to keep this short for now. my work is super busy so i may not pontificate as I sometimes do, bit I will try to keep you informed.

a much different makeup to this team right now, much more guard oriented. rebounding is going to be a major issue but there are several scorers with range. the pipeline is really not much more than a trickle but keep pounding your trainees if you have one that has potential to develop.

this little group of pain and suffering we get to go thru before we finally hit the consolation phase will be brutal. but for the moment we do have the enthusiasm built up from last season still in effect, I guess a reset is due but I am not sure in the when. if it is after this group phase I might have the chance of stealing a win but don't count on it!

edit: yeah the enthusiasm reset, which is what I thought would be the case. Germany is the opener is what us Americans like to call a "punt". Ecuador at the moment looks like it may have potential, so does Australia, but it's a stay tuned scenario with both. We need to develop inside presence!

after this week we finally get past repechage so hopefukky our schedule becomes more reasonable. the Germans blitzed us, against Ecudor we had a real chance but could not close the deal. the Aussies will be another tough rest, but we will see what can be done.

some good movement as our managers are doing all they can

Dunker: no pops, dmi is flaccid and gs is middling but he is still the most complete player we have

Bleek: IS FT and JS pops, ok dmi, gs acceptable,

makeba: no pops substandard dmi/gs, may use him off the bench this week

nkosi: ft and is pops excellent dmi/gs, may well draw a start this week

khomane: oD pops, ok reset

hayden: no pops but a very nice reset

mamoepa, another js pop, has seen excellent od pops lately as well. far abd away highest dmi, is going to become our main scoring option and i look forward to a shot where he can truly cut loose and take over

mini: reb pop, still a enigma overall but getting better

nakana: a new addition to rhe roster, ha and dr pops. poor game shape and dmi but he will be a factor

and the rest of the roster lags, though i look for Johnson to pop with new ownership in charge of his development.

as always feel free to reach out.

This team is much different from the first three I've manned the helm for. We are showing the ability to compete but we are lacking in inside presence which is inhibiting the ability to get in the win column, Plus because we are so guard oriented and outside focused it is makes us vulnerable to GDP guesses which is what I think contributed to yesterdays defeat to Belarus. Next week against Russia should be a handful hopefully after that the schedule lightens somewhat.

It's been a couple of weeks figured I might as well check in, hope everyone is well, hope everyone is healthy. Here in the USA it's crazy thanks to CONVID19. WASH YOUR HANDS!

Sean Dunker: a JS pop, solid DMI, could be ready to break out! He is being trained more as a SF but our needs have led him to logging lots of minutes at PF.

Beau Bleek: solid DMI no pops, but is in good position to provide quality minutes

Jabulani Makeba: no pops but has excellent GS and DMI, has been our SF, I might move Dunker over there but I am undecided, nevertheless he will still play an important part.

Khaya Nkosi: no pops but a nice reset, he has been our starting center, look for that to remain.

Ngwazi Khomane : no pops, solid reset, needs some OD

Ad Hayden : no pops, so so reset,

Siphiwe Mamoepa: OD pop, best DMI, looking for a breakout performance from him this week.

Ayize Mini: rebounding pop, ok GS, meh DMI, getting better but hi build makes him a enigma.

and the rest of the roster is the rest of the roster.

Last week was a rough excursion. This week against Tunisia in front of our crowd should be a much easier assignment and hopefully we get finally get a victory! The goal before the season was to make the elimination phase, that is drifting away, hopefully though we can get some wins under our belt. If you have guys in the pipeline that you think can help let me know.

pretty much, dunker played a whale of a game, ciuple of guys were ok, couple were practically MIA. next week allows more of the same, and then we will have enough enthusiasm built up to ct the last two if so desired. 4-4 it seems ussually falls a little short of making the elimination round but if we die hard we go full om Bruce Willis and die hard with a vengeance. just glad to snap the skid.

and now it extends to 2 in a row. dunker has stepped up his game, mamoepa has had some issues but not everyone can be on every game. next week is on the surface a extraordinary challenge but i think a good game plan, good fame shape and a crunch effort can bring a surprising result. the schedule maker was unkind to us so getting and to the second phase is a tall order but i think we are in great shape to be able to host afrobasket next season. good luck with your training.
