It seems it will be difficult to build $50k wage PGs/SGs if so that need 6 skills as if you distribute 60 points over the 6 areas you get a 6x Prominent player vs you could have a Center with 4x15 Marvellous (clearly a much more wage heavy and I assume effective player)

Same old story...
A SG does not need passing and handling (not more than a C) and a PG does not need high JR.
PFs also need JS.

After the half season changes do you still think that training C/PF gives advantages to PG/SG training?

Well I just havent got a clue! Why does a SG not need Passing?

I think at the Allstar level training C/PF is more efficient (I am a guard trainer) as you can currently build 60-70k salary centres and to build an equivalent PG (wage wise) you by the sounds of it need a player with higher potential....

I don't say that a SG does not need passing... but a respectable passing and handling is probably good enough even for best SGs.
From what you say PG and SG seem to be the same position.

In my team:
C with respectable passing: 4.4 assists per game (24.7 min average)
PG with respectable passing: 4.5 assists (30.3 min)

You know, managers training centers complain because their salary increases too fast compared to guards :)

Maybe in the past, as I've written somewhere, I've seen a center similar to one of my SF (monoskill both), my SF is 20k/week, the center was 14k/week

You know that the salary formula is very complex. For example, two similar centers, with difference only in SB can have very different salaries...
I guess it is even more difficult to compare different positions... but it is a fact that centers (mainly Brazilian) have all the highest salaries in BB :)

Lol, so it should be the weigthed average of the important skills per position if I understand it right.

Going by what is being speculated, a Center will have his potential on the weighted average of important skills for a Center (inside) and a SF will have a wider array of skills to hit the ceiling. Which means a Center will have a lower total skill potential than a SF.

But what if I attempt to convert my Center to a SF? Will the potential be recalculated from a Center's to a SF's once the position changes?

I think the answer is here :)

I am aware of that thread. I understand that Charles clarified there potential acts as the cap on the total accumulation of skills, rather than a limit on how far you can actually take one skill.

However here they are speculating that different positions have a different potential threshold, even though the potential level is the same. Which is to say a SF will have a higher total accumulation of skills as compared to a Center because his 'important' skillset is bigger than the Center's.
