The way timeouts are called in the game currently is completely unrealistic and quite pointless.

First, AI only seems to make intensive use of timeouts in the end when the team is behind. For one, this cannot happen, because the NBA rules which BB seems to use have strict limitations about when TOs can be called, and you can't save them all for the last 2 minutes. This needs fixing.

Second, I can't understand how the AI can go for a full quarter withhout calling a TO when the team went from 3 up to 9 down with 8 fouls and generally with taking a bunch of shots in the 24th second.

I suppose that addressing first point will fix the second, but something is definitely needed there.

I guess I've been lucky. While not as often as I have wanted, my coach calls 30-second and full timeouts at very opportune times. At least once per game.

With me, it seems to be only the opposing coach that tends to call timeouts when needed

Either way, this doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't be possible for teams to save and call 4-5 timeouts in the final 1 or 2 minutes of games.

and make all the timeouts last thirty "real life" seconds. it ain't fun to stand there waiting for the last dreaded shot… you wait, you wait, then you go all "wtf, I'll go grab a glass of water" and before you're back everything's done. :(

Or then there should be some kind of a counter like there is between the quarters and during the half-time.

Occasionally, if you reload the page during a timeout, the game clock counts down the length of the timeout to the current in-game time, so it's easy to tell when the action is going to start again.

(There's probably a better way of saying this - I can't explain things to save my life.)

There's also probably a better way to introduce that kind of a feature. :)

This is exactly what I think every time my coach calls a timeout. I salute you, sir!
