to follow an incredibly premature power ranking, it's only reasonable to provide an incredibly premature MVP race ranking:

1. Tommy Lee Tompkins - PG - BucsBlue Lob City
tompkins is nearly a 100k player and the heart and soul of lob city. he's finished 2nd and 3rd in the race the last 2 seasons, and this season he'l be poised to win it. touting a rounded game, this guard can take it inside and light it up from beyond the arc, all the while distributing and playing d. he's the total package.

2. Arthur Hinkle - C - Space von Jam
who is this monster? and what does he want with our league? nobody is going to be able to stop him. the only question is how hard teams are going to try. he's the mose expensive player in the league. he'll probably average over 20 rebounds a game and over 20 points a game.

3. Rémi Bois - PF - West Side Tigers
bois was the runner-up a season ago, and is consistently a factor in the voting. the long-time tiger will hope to solidify his place in west side lore as a league mvp. he's ferocious in every aspect of the game, and probably the best forward in the league. his counter-part gybels helps him tremendously. will leveque steal some of his thunder this year? i don't think so, leveque seems to me like a great defender and rebounder and not as much of a scorer. bois should still get his numbers.

4. Bartłomiej Zarzecki - SG - Philadelphia Phantasm
zarzecki missed a good chunk of last season and still managed to get MVP votes. he could do it. philly's guards always put up numbers and zarzecki is more than capable.

5. Marc Trèmol - C - Walnut Streets
statistically, tremol had an off year last year, but i think he's due for a comeback. he can score, he can block, he can rebound, and he is a scary mofo in d3. i think he'll be a huge factor in the race.

6. Julien Lévêque - C - West Side Tigers
even if gybels and bois steal some of his thunder, he's probably going to an mvp factor. i could easily see teams trying to stop bois and leaving leveque to dominate some numbers.

7. Nəriman Qoşqar - SG - Homeboyz
neriman put up huge stats last season and should be even better this season. the youngest player on this list, he should only get better as the season goes on, and toward the end of the season he could be putting up monster numbers.

8. Moses McGee - SG - Crosstown United
the man scores. he's the best scorer on the team and the manager knows how to use him. he'll put up numbers.

9. Marcos Sala - PF/C - Baker Street Irregulars
sala has the interesting disadvantage of being on a rounded team that plays many offenses. despite this, if the irregulars want to, they could skyrocket sala's mvp stock. sala has a good skillset to get numbers from a lot of different offenses, so it'll be interesting to see how he's used this season in the wake of a ryder departure.

10. Timothy Fischer - PG - Philadelphia Phantasm
fischer will look to get back to his mvp ways this season. the s29 mvp has shared the glory with colleague Bartłomiej Zarzecki in the backcourt, often times opening the game up for him to take over. it's entirely feasible that fischer starts to put up the numbers instead.

yeah, remember when Ryder was the hot player last season? his performance was depressed and later was sold
not giving any love to my guards eh?

i considered adding meredith. with your team, it's just a guess as to who's going to put up the numbers. i could've gone with kuptsov, too. in the end, i went with the s30 vote-getter.

Tommy continues to impress me as his salary continues to increase and so does his skills even now at 27. basically he's at the age where i may only get 1 or 2 pops from him in training, but he was the first player i ever drafted and has been a staple to any and all the success we've had. Interesting fact is as good as Tommy has been in even D4 etc. He's NEVER won an MVP (3rd many times, 2nd, etc) I honestly thought he was going to win it last year. However we didn't win enough games for him to do it. With me in Restructure mode here if we are going to win ANY games this year its going to be when he plays well. Its that simple.

I built that monstrosity from the ground up starting in his 18 year old season, so he better show some numbers. Lol.

The only real depressing fact about him is he will probably never play on the USA NT since he's MVP potential and can't hang with the HoF big boys. *sad face*

I will say this because i was always wondering in previous leagues and even in this one at some time. What matters more individual stats or wins & losses. And clearly with Tommy being DEAD last in the voting the fact that my team didn't make the playoffs and went .500 mattered! Which is how it should be!!!! MVP should be the best player on the best team or at least a team that can contend for a title! well done BB well done!

I've never really paid too much attention to the MVP thing, but in DIV, it seemed as though many of the top MVP candidates played 1/3 to 1/2 fewer games, so that tells me the smaller sample size/higher average helps, and then is weighted by overall team performance. But that's just a guess without any hard info to back it up.

Looks like I got the 1st (Pryor), 4th (Kelly) and 7th (Johnson) ranked players as I had them ranked. :)
