So yeah I stayed up even though I have class tomorrow. Was waiting to bid on this one player.

Player bid ends at 1:13:11 AM. So I check the BuzzerBeater official clock on the top right corner. It states 1:12:28.
Clicks on BID

BOOM Auction OVER!

Auction closes 30-40 seconds earlier? Is this some sort of bug? In bidding for players, every second counts!
Has anyone encountered such a problem?

PURE FRUSTRATION!

It is your fault that you tried to bid that late, you could have placed a bid much earlier - the server issues are known all over the place.

I agree with both posters above.
And May I add that when you leave a page opened for a long time, the clock can be slightly off (maybe 1minute or so). I think the clock is only accurate after loading a page, and if your computer is slow, or working on different tasks, it can slow the clock down (so it shows 7:59 when in reality it is already 8:00).

even though the reactions on the first post hold truth, it is up to the bidder to decide when he makes the bid.

the only thing he made a mistake about is the 'official' clock thing.

BB has no official clock running on the site.

it has been stated before that the clock in the upper right should not be used for exact BB times. So there is no bug, it all went normal. The clock in the upper right was not entirely synchrnised with the local server time. And that's not unusual.

I also understand the frustration, but look at it positively. There is a lesson learned, and I suppose it will not happen again with the same person.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

Maybe the clock should have the seconds removed from it. The way it is right now, without detailed research in the forums how are you supposed to know that it is not the server time?

The clock has every look of being the official clock of the site, because it is a counting clock at the top of the page, so I don't fault the first poster for believing it to be official.

I dont have an opinion about your problem but yes i have to agree 100% indeed with the users who spoke about the Kamikaze bids....its really really frustrating, because you follow a player, bid for him, push for him, and when you think you are gonna get it them pum! kamikaze bid arrives! Then rebet, then another kamikaze, and then the push between you and the Kamikaze turns into a push between all who can and want to get them but didnt noticed him till a "kamikaze put it on the map".

Ok, I am ninja!
But.. ninja style works! And in this moments I can imagine the red face of my opponet, who refreshes the page every 5 seconds..

P.s. I'd recommend the Topicstarter to post it at Bugs forum next time.

Ninja style doesn't work though as it adds 3 minutes to the bidding no matter when you do it. The only thing you do by trying to snipe a TL auction is allow that much more time for someone else to find the auction that's about to end. You're better off being a ninja and bidding 2 seconds after the last bid so that an inattentive player won't check for the next couple minutes and miss out on the chance to counter bid.

Well as much as I agree that it seems like an "official" clock and everything is based on this "unofficial clock" something should change. I know for a fact and have checked numerous times that my games start when the "unofficial clock" strikes 08:00. On the other hand I have noticed and timed the clock to be 12 - 40 seconds faster than my computer and cell phone times on different occasions. Always faster though. As far as bidding do what your little heart pleases but if within 3 mins of end to auction it gets extended 3 mins so seems pretty pointless. When someone keeps raising the min of $1000 or whatever it may be I re-raise about $10,000 each time to let them know I'm not messing around and you are not going to get a cheap player so stop being a DB.
