Hi,
I recently bought a C with proficient stamina. For today's match, I set him at C as the starter and put somebody else as the backup. And although I won the game by PD of about 30, my starting C ended up playing 44 minutes and my backup only played the last 4 minutes, as if he was set as the reserve. I went back to the tactics I set for this game and it was clear that I set him as the backup.
So, my question is, did this happen, simply because my starting C had a proficient stamina thus playing straight 44 minutes, or could this be a bug? If my backup was playing for 1 minute or so every now and then, I'd understand but only playing the last 4 minutes!? This looks bit awkward to me. This is the first time I have a player with proficient stamina, and although I know that higher the stamina, more minutes player gets to play but I don't have any experience with proficient stamina player, so I need your input.

Thanks,

From what I understand, your coach leaves your starter in until he (at his stamina then) would perform worse than the backup who gets in to give the starter a breezer.

What might be the case is that your backup was significantly worse than your starter and that would explain why the coach left your starter in for so long even in a blowout.

Well my backup is better in JR, OD, HD, and DR. the skills that are the same are passing and ID. My starter is better in IS, RB and SB.
When I compare my starting PF with my backup PF, the difference between the starting PF and backup PF is much larger (starting PF is better in most of the skills), yet my starting PF got 35 minutes and backup PF got 13 minutes, so it doesn't really go with that you said.

Your coatch put backup in game when your starter is tyred, so, yes your starter play 44 min cose he has high stamina.

Since you are talking about a C, the truly relevant skills (from the way a BB coach will look at it) is the three you listed the starter as being better in and ID where they are the same. Until the starter tires such that the backup will be a better option at C, the coach is going to keep him in there, unless it becomes a blowout. It sounds like your starter simply did not tire enough to result in the coach bringing in the backup much.

Alright, thanks everybody for posting your thoughts. I guess it's one thing to say that proficient stamina will allow the better player to play for a longer time but another thing to say that it screws up the playing minutes...
