Hello All

yes just recently joined this amazing game

the team I was given is sitting 11-1, so i cant really complain about that

what i need to do know is, is it a certainty i will get promoted? and with the remaining games do i not try because of the record i was given? apparently you get a new manager cash incentive? what should i spend it on?

any help would be good

thanks all

It isn't a certainty that you'll be promoted. You need to win your league for that to happen. Based on your recent box scores, you are looking up at the 12-0 team in the other division.

You can go one of two ways (in my newbie opinion).

1st, you can stay in a holding pattern, stockpile some money, and buy the best player you can right before the playoffs (probably someone around 30 years old) with the hope that your purchase puts you over the edge.

2nd, you can invest your money in your stadium, and save some money to buy a trainer and a young trainee at the start of next year. At this point in the season you will most likely only be able to obtain a player who as missed out on most of their potential training this year.

I'd go with option #2 -- you probably won't promote this year, but you'll set yourself up in a more sustainable way when you do promote.

Cheers and good luck!

No disrespect but that is horrible advice. He took over a highly ranked bot team and he is in the lowest division of Australia. If he can maintain a decent win record (which shouldn't be hard in D4), he still have a good chance of being bot promoted if he can't promote via winning his league.

D4 is not the league to try build a sustainable future as you can easily do it in D3 with higher income

Hello,

Best advice for you at this stage is to read to FAQ guide.

Also don't rush into making decisions too quickly. It is probably beneficial to sit back and observe a few things before making moves such as making transfers, etc

Good luck

Where did I advise him to tank his matches?

If he auto-promotes that is fine. But, look how far behind the 12-0 team he is in terms of match ratings. If he spends his money on the players needed to put him over the edge, he won't be spending money on his stadium. My advice was to not go all out for the league win, and instead invest in his stadium and save to buy a trainee next season.

He can spend no money, win out, lose the finals, promote, and build a sustainable future.

Or am I wrong?

Investing in the stadium is cruicial but is not that important early on in the game. He should focus on promotion and get out of D4 as it is the lowest division in Australia. Stadium investing can wait till next season when he is in higher league earning at least 2-3 times more income than he is right now. Promotion is first priority for anyone that is in the lowest division in their country as once you manage to get out of it you gain heaps of cash.

He can spend no money, win out, lose the finals, promote, and build a sustainable future.

If he doesn't spend money there is no way he will maintain his position and will not promote. So the only way for him to realisticlly promote is to spend money and try maintain his good record. He took over a good former team with a good starting record. If this wasn't the case then it would have been more difficult to shoot for this strategy. He can be very competitive within a few weeks with the transfer market so low atm.

Hardwood,
I hope you realize that the roster you have is not the roster that posted a 11-1 record in your league. When you take over a new team, your roster resets. Also, why do you have everyone on your team up for sale? You'll have zero players by the end of the week.

Woops lol almost advertised on forums but to be honest you sh.ld not of sold all ur players( maybe some of the scrubs there i.e 3.5k and below) focus some of that cash on arena(about 50%) and then use 25% on Players and save the rest. only start investing on monday's as thats when you know you can spend all your cash.p.s TIE( take it easy) on most of your games(that makes your team enthusiasm higher) and manage Game shape try to get all your players somewhere between 48-74 minutes so that GS goes up and dont worry if it goes down when it reaches Proficient because Proficient is the Limit so the GS can only go down. and also there are Sublevels in all your players skills so if ur trainee had Respectable Jump shot he could realy have 7.0-7.9( there is no way to know exactly what sub-level your player has in any given skill there is even sub levels in enthusiasm all in all Look over the game manual it is Prodigiously Important. and if you have any questions ask your local GM or ask a BB or just go in the forums and post.

BB-skill levels as adjectives are mediocre at best.
