Hi

In the past, I suggested that the Game Engine be converted to HTML5, away from Flash technology, which can be a real burden on smaller laptops and phones. Seeing as the HTML5 code is very complicated, and the time required to convert the Game Engine to an HTML5 based game would be too much work for our favourite BB's.

Lucky for us, Apple has recently announced this.

Apple's announcement today that it has lifted restrictions on its third-party developer guidelines has direct implications for Adobe's Packager for iPhone, a feature in the Flash Professional CS5 authoring tool. This feature was created to enable Flash developers to quickly and easily deliver applications for iOS devices. The feature is available for developers to use today in Flash Professional CS5, and we will now resume development work on this feature for future releases.

Seeing as the Game Engine is already encoded in Flash, my thinking is along these lines.

- Would it be easy now to port over the Game Engine code (since it's the same) to the CS5 packager?
- Interface wouldn't be a major issue, keeping it simple is the key.

Since all iOS device users can already access the internet and search the transfer list and do their day to day BB stuff through Safari, the App can simply be the Live Match Viewer.

When someone loads the App, you log in, and your schedule will load up and you can view your current game Live when the game is supposed to start. Then the App will query the server for the Match ID and then proceed to load the game so we can watch it live as if we were on our computers.

There doesn't need to be anything else added on, no bells, no whistles. Just the game we want to and love to watch in the palm of our hands.

In the future you could add in Mibbit Chat as a tab players can flick between.

I, for one, would be happy to pay for this App.

Thoughts?
